Here’s our starter if we can’t find anyone in the draft. He sucks so bad he doesn’t even know the playbook and can’t even serve as a backup because he doesn’t fit the system. Let’s give him all the first team reps too, all offseason, even though, again, he isn’t even adequate as a backup.

There were a bunch of potential free agent QBs.

All of whom would have commanded substantially more money at a time in which they were trying to shave every dollar they could in preparation for major free agent aquisitions.

Bill is going to have to use Mac as a game manager similar to how Brady was from 2001-2004 for the next few years. Luckily we have some experience with this. As long as mac doesnt turn the ball over, we should be alright this year

Why? He's not replacing Brady, he's replacing Cam.

Brady was just a backup drafted in the 6th round. When Bledsoe went down...their wasnt a lot expected from him. Mac on the other hand doesn't have that luxury. He's got a lot more pressure to succeed.

I really think that was the reason why Cam wasn't offered the backup job.

Once BB determined Mac won the competition, he didn't feel it was worth the hassle on a backup QB.

So not to give the NFLPA a reason to investigate, he kept Cam as the starter for practices and vs the NYG after he got back.

Speaking of picks, I was watching a great video on the Brady Forum and when asked what bothers him most, Brady answered throwing picks.

The cheap shots as Cam walks out the door are really petty and cheap. Who would claim Mac was teaching Cam?? Makes zero sense. Unless it was Hoyer or McDaniels in the QB room and leaking this crap. Which is bush league.

He doesn't do that. It's pretty bush league to be claiming Cam didn't know the playbook. He passed for 66% last year and this year was passing 67%.
