Official 2021 Cutdown Day Thread

While I don't think WR is a strength right now, saying those guys are "the worst" top 3 WRs in the league is such a bad take...

ok name teams with a worse top 3 core? I just looked. Maybe 1 or 2 teams tops

Surely you remember the top 3 last year. This is absolutely an upgrade.

This is going to be a run first team though so they can ease Mac Jones into things. When they do throw the ball I think a lot of the targets will go towards the tight ends.

run team first

so we drafted an elite pure pocket passer in the top 15 to hand the ball off?

Is there a worse starting top 3 receiver core in nfl than Agholor, Bourne, and meyers?

ill come find you week 5 if Mac’s playing poorly because his WRs aren’t getting open and catching the Ball
detroit lions - tyrell williams, Kalif Raymond, Amon-Ra St. Brown

Agreed. While Hoyer may not be the second coming of even Bubby Brister, his knowledge of not only the playbook, but the inner workings/culture of the program/league on a day-to-day/professional level is invaluable.

so hire him as a coach. Watching him play is excruciating

yes they are one of 2 teams i could find, although Tyrell Williams is probably better than anyone we have. Still it remains our WR core is ranked at of near bottom of the nfl

Is there a WR out there we can trade for?

Agholor Bourne and Meyers I cant think of a worse top 3. find our rookie qb a legitimate wide receive weapon!
Given what the Patriots have of value currently (have to give to get) - to get what I think you're advocating for (a $22M per year "big name #1" WR) and to fit under the cap they'll probably have to send both their new TEs back as compensation (at a minimum if not also a draft pick).

The team hasn't taken a snap of real game live action yet, but already are "the worst" and should be blown up to go get other players.

You know this poster and his agenda.

I don't know. I haven't set out to do a team-by-team comparison. It's the first day after cutdowns.

You go ahead and do that. When you do, you can ask me what I felt about this group from the start, since you apparently don't already know.

He's a troll. He's a very bad troll. He's been trolling here since 2009, and he still sucks at it.

Elite?

He hasn't taken a snap in true live action yet. It remains an unknown what he'll turn out to be other than potential.

And yes, handing the ball off IS a better integration strategy in the NFL for a rookie - a successful run game simplifies defenses, allows for wider throwing lanes via play-action and actually will ENHANCE a rookie QBs potential by taking the focus off of him. Then if he does happen to live up to or exceed that potential the team is now a DOUBLE threat and can attack multiple defenses.

I know - I'm so easily baited its ridiculous.
I've tangled with him as well. He's not mean-spirited. Just over the top on WRs and RBs.

Hoyer to the PS is interesting as most figured he'd be on the active roster after Harry to IR. Another move coming perhaps? Not opposed to another QB signing as long as it's a short term deal if it's someone like Foles. Want to maintain max cap flexibility for the next couple years if Mac turns out to be the "real" deal.
