Patriots Player Departure Official 2021 Cutdown Day Thread

No way I want to see him backing up Mac.
We posters seem to have serious disagreements on the value of a backup QB.

Some want someone who could step right in and do OK for few games if necessary. They are looking for an upgrade from CAM. These folks would have tried to trade for a Minshew level quarterback at the very least.

Others seem to want a million a year player who would basically be an emergency QB with little chance of winning.

D coordinators are going to aggressively try to jalibreak blitz a rookie. I wish we had a go-to field extender coverage beater to make them pay, should Mac see it coming (and I think he will see it coming). Right now I think we beat that only with a quick little dumpoff over the middle.

You think that Cam would just come back whenever Bill wants and play for free? Why would he do that?
He wouldn't. That doesn't mean I'd be mad if it did happen.

Hmmm... that's a 53 spot, plus one for Hoyer

Harry to 3-week IR and then... ??

Patriots claimed former Navy QB and Dolphins WR Malcolm Perry, and as far as I can tell lost nobody to waivers.
Not sure where he fits? Undersized slash player with 4.63 speed.

We both agree with PatsWickedPissah that if Jones gets hurt the team doesn't go anywhere. Who do you want to go nowhere with ?

LOL of course they claimed Perry!! I remember when Miami drafted him, I was sure Bill was taking him in the 7th but Miami jumped him... now he gets him... hey, there's your depth WR and your depth QB

A smidge surprised Bryant wasn't claimed, I really like him. I hope they keep him on the PS. Wilkerson and Zubah too.

Nick Foles
Ok. Well I'd rather go nowhere with a very cheap player that has system knowledge then an expensive one who has no experience in our system...but that's just me. I'd rather put $ into starting positions of need such as CB.

I really don't understand the disagreement.

I am speaking in terms of the worst Patriot WR pick EVER. My personal feeling is Nkeal Harry is hands down my choice.
1st round draft bust that has impacted this team's future. Donte statistically so far to me is a good comparision with Harry.
Your opinion isn't fact. It also ignores players like Chad Jackson.

We disagree then

So far, reports that Bryant, LaCosse, Nixon and Redmond are signing on the PS.
Excellent. I honestly expected LaCosse to make the team with how much they wanna use TEs. He looked fine in TC and in the games, not amazing but fine for your fourth guy.
