PATRIOTS TRAINING CAMP PATRIOTS TRAINING CAMP Day 8 Training Camp Thread- Thursday August 5th

I'm more looking at the 15/19 with two passes dropped. That's some good throwing.
No doubt. Impressive outing for the young man after a rough go of it his first day in pads. Good practice to build on.

I never place any stock in training camp.

Red jersey Mac looing like the champion of training camp vs his own team is to be expected as the Pats ween him along slowly. Supposedly, Justin Fields and Trey Lance also look like world beaters. Its all BS until the competition is against guys that dont care if you get carted off in the back of the John Deere.
It's true that a great camp doesn't necessarily make for a great, or even good, season. But I can't remember anytime a QB, especially a rookie, played poorly in camp and went on to have success in the regular season. A good camp is merely a first step.

Just 2 days ago the same mediots who are talking about how great Mac was in today's practice, were the ones who declared the QB competition over. I just have to laugh. These guys have NO shame. They wrote glowingly about a guy one day and the next they can completely ignore (forget) that and blast them the next. Talk about short term memory loss.

This is ALL we know about Mac's good day. It is very positive that he can come back from a bad day on Tuesday, in the first day of padded practice, and rebound today. Bad days will ALWAYS happen. How one responds to them is what coaches look for. Lets see who strings 7 or 8 of them in a row before we declare a winner of the competition.

These are EARLY days of TC. The kind of player you are today will be vastly different 3 weeks from now. Just as the kind of player you are at the start of September will be vastly different from the one you are in December. We as fans SHOULD stop taking "snapshots" of players at given time and think that's what they ALWAYS are forever. The great players are the ones that keep on getting better over time. So what we see on a given practice day or game isn't what the player is or will be. And improvement is NEVER a steady up or down graph. There will always be hills and valleys over a players career. You just have to hop that its a two steps forward and one step back progression rather than a one step forward, two steps back one,

Which mediots are the ones that declared the competition over? From what I've seen, it's been Cam is the starter...but... pretty consistently. Mac seems to be on an upward trajectory over time as well. I don't think it's out of the realm to think that he's already doing quite well and still has a lot of room for growth.

JAG was lousy in camp, but was solid when got into the games (until he broke like a china doll).

Matt Cassel, 2008 season.....

It always fascinates me how people that have such different takes on things get married. Or maybe how you personally handle global pandemics wasn't discussed before you got married?
Yep didn’t come up, to be honest the all vaccines are evil is a recent thing. The other week she cut herself good on a rusty fence and I suggested she get her Tetanus vaccine which would make sense she’s about 11 years since her last one.
She said she researched the vaccine and didn’t need itz
I was like what do you mean?
Lead to a big argument.

Let's see how Cam responds the next time. I am loving this...last year, Cam had zero competition....he has to be better in practice to stay atop the depth chart.

  1. Urban Dictionary: Beach Muscles

    Urban Dictionary: beach Muscles
Beach Muscles unknown Muscles that are gained through working out in a gym and may make a man look strong, but in reality they are gained just for show , like on a beach (hence the name), and therefore are not indicative of toughness, fortitude, or NFL skills .
i challenge that definition. beach muscles are muscles you only care about because youll be at the beach. like chest abs and arms. aka not legs

Cam was competing against himself last year. And lost.

Stiddy couldn't even earn a start last year....even when Cam was out for the K.C. game....

Anyhow, both QB's are getting a lot more reps now than Cam/Stiddy/Hoyer got last year around this time of the year. Pre-season should be more critical than ever for the Pats offense...when we had TB12...it was more about keeping him in bubble wrap.

Wow man, not even sure how to reply to this. You’re a better man than me. I would’ve been divorced by now.

Wow. Tetanus is more lethal than almost all venomous snakes - the body has no natural immunity to it. nothing to play with.

She's on Facebook a lot, isn't she?
