Falcons open to trading the number 4 pick.

Keep in mind the Jets are one of those picks ahead of #4.

We always choose the wrong guy. So you'd really be getting at least a top 3 QB.

You guys don’t choose the wrong guy. Your horrible and inept franchise ruins every top QB you get.

According to Jordan Moore, who worked for Fox 25 here in Boston but now works for Tampa’s Spectrum Bay News 9, the Patriots have called and inquired about a trade with the Falcons, who hold the #4 overall selection.
My understanding is that the Patriots typically call every team reasonably ahead of them to see the cost of moving up (and if it’s possible) as part of their due diligence. Maybe there is a difference this time, but I’m not inclined to think it means anything yet.

I am actually wondering if the Niners like Pitts to pair with Kittle....that would be a sick combo.

===========

And I don't mind giving up two firsts plus a 2nd/3rd in either 2021/2022....because it would mean that BB believes in the guy.

And yes, the #4 pick comes with a "28-3" premium, IMO...but the Falcons are reasonable and it will be more about dropping down to #15 versus "28-3".

We should talk to the Bengals though.....if we believe in QB#4...to stop Miami from allowing someone else to leap frog us. I think the Bengals would do 2021 1.15, 2021 3.96, 2022 1st, and a 2022 4th....

By all accounts people talk about Pitts like Gonzalez , Gates, Kittle, Gronk, so I can see the excitement for Pitts.

The gift that keeps on giving.

“...fullback...”

“OHHHHH NOOOOOOO!!!”

Perhaps you miss the fact that the players you listed all weren't taken high in the first round, or even in the first round at all. You could make this list for any team.

Agreed. It's not like the 4 1st Rnd picks that were listed were groan worthy at the time of the draft, either. I'd argue Michel and Maroney were... acceptable... in the grand scheme of things, and Harry and Easley were just very unlucky (due to injuries - although the latter was a massive risk with already 2 ACL tears before the draft - just rolled the dice and lost).

Yes, there have been miscues by BB but it is not like he is picking in the top ten every single year and whiffing.

The video was about the Jets fans and how they have a reputation of booing their picks at the Draft itself every year. It’s like a tradition for them. Has nothing to do with making bad second round picks.

In addition to what was already said..... how was The Closer a bad pick?

Good catch there. The Harmon pick worked out. Not everyone has to go to the Pro Bowl to be a success.

I’d also object to Michel being a bad pick considering how he had the best playoff campaign for a rookie RB in NFL history. If you were a major contributor to a Super Bowl championship, you justified your spot. And of all the RB’s drafted after him, Chubb I think is the only one with more career rushing yards to this point. Michel looked pretty good in the limited time he played last season. Even if you took away his longest run of 48 yards, he still averaged over 5 yards a carry. I’d like to see him play a full 17 games but I wouldn’t call him a bum.

Why is everyone trading down? #3 pick trading down. #4 pick trading down. #6 trades down. #8 trades for Darnold. I wonder why that is? Could it be that NONE of those teams are excited about the QB prospects after Lawrence and Wilson? And now that the 9ers are definitely taking a QB at #3, that means everyone is looking at QB #4 at best. And they are all running for the hills? Why?

I know the answer. Because BB is going to trade three 1sts for the QB prospect no-one else wants because he is playing chess  Or QB #4 and below are significant projects not worth a top 10 pick ;), and BB will never make that trade.
#3 and #4 don’t need QBs so their trade down says nothing about QBs. #12 paid a kings ransom to move up to 3 to get....a QB
You gave it exactly backwards.

Michel was a bad pick, or not, for reasons outside of a 3 game stretch. Flacco's not going to the HOF, and he was nails in the 2012 playoffs.

If we're just counting a quick burst, then we give Maroney the seal of approval. Without his run at the end of the 2007 regular season/2007 playoffs, that 2007 team quite possiblyt doesn't make it to the SB.

I really want mac jones. Somehow i hope that the 49ers are wowed by Fields and they take him. I was a little afraid at first but i just like everything about this kid. He reminds me of a 6’3 matt ryan. Sounds crazy but i just like his poise in the pocket.

One does not have to be HOF bound to be worth where they were taken. Flacco wasn’t a generational talent, but he ended up being the best quarterback in franchise history, played his best football in the playoffs, and led them to a Super Bowl title (while knocking on the door of a Super Bowl berth two other times). He and Matt Ryan ended up being the only two quarterbacks worth their salt in that entire class. No regrets on the Ravens’ side.

I forgot how good Maroney was in that 2007 run. Much needed after losing Sammy Morris (who I remember looking real good for us before he was lost for the season to injury). We got four seasons out of him before he was disposed of, so let’s see what Michel can do in his fourth season. My stance is that he was worth it just for his rookie performance. Others disagree, because theoretically we could’ve got more from Chubb. Wasn’t the optimal pick but I didn’t think it was bad either. N’Keal Harry is a different story because he hasn’t contributed much of anything to this point.

To be fair, I don’t consider Malcolm Mitchell a bust, even though we only got one season out of him at the cost of a 4th round pick. But that’s because when his number was called upon he delivered. Helped a lot in the comeback that won the Super Bowl. Wish his career was longer but he was worth the pick for that year alone. Just my opinion though.

That was the whole video. The one you shared just took that one I posted, cropped it to a smaller ratio, and added more recent footage afterward. Check the dates they were uploaded. Mine was from 2006, yours is 2020.

How did they forget the legendary Dwayne Robertson who are rumored to have traded up for him in fear Bill was going to?

How about Vernon Gholston? Check out this scouting report on him, particularly the intelligence/character section. Jets took him anyway. What a pick he turned out to be.
