They don’t have the luxury of seeing whether Wynn stays healthy this season. The 5th year option has to be exercised next month. I think they exercise it for Wynn as $10 million is under the going rate for a good LT.

i think what we do in the draft will help us determine if they pick up his 5th year or not.

Stay w OLine, LB, and DLine. Don't even consider drafting CB or WR. Go with what we're good at. Supplement the rest via FA or trade.

BB usually goes Dline when he has a top 1st round pick, but Mayo was not. My guess is Paye at 15, but we need depth in the secondary so it could Horn. I doubt it is a QB.

You definitely pick up Wynn's option. $10m for a starting left tackle is a bargain, even if he has some durability concerns. Good linemen don't grow on trees so I'm sure you could trade him on the 5th year to someone if you needed to.

Top draft needs to me are:

1. QB. However I don't see this as a 1st round option as they are likely all going to go out of our reach.

2. CB. Question marks over both Gilmore and JC Jackson's future next year. And there is a gap for someone to come in this year and play the Jason McCourty 3rd CB role and then step in as a starter next year.

3. OL. This sort of depends on what they plan to do with Wynn. If they have decided to pick up his 5th year option, this might just be a mid round depth pick but if not they could look at OT early, especially with Brown on a one year deal too.

4. WR. We still need a young impact receiver. I think Edelman is basically done and you certainly can't rely on him and Harry is on the way out. This probably needs a trade up from 15 too.

5. LB. Think we could look for an impact 3 down inside guy to replacement Hightower long term. Not sure Parsons is our guy with maturity concerns but Collins and Davis could be options later in the 1st.

Would love to get Surtain or Horn at 15 but likely will need to trade up. Devonta Smith seems the most likely receiver to fall to 15, but even that seems a stretch. Therefore I'd be looking at a trade down 5-10 spots and look at Greg Newsome, or Zaven Collins/Jamin Davis. If we can pick up an extra 2nd in that trade, there are some good 2nd round receivers, linemen and corners we could get.

PTP Big Board is 90% done. About 120 players. I'll try to chop it down after work and as we head towards the draft but yea it's very hard to cut down. I added in some udfa which I'm not counting on my board. They just fit our types. We've all heard the Pats board is small but I have to believe it changes from time to time. This is nuts who knows? Anyway I'll post it for sure this afternoon with some explanation of how I got there. Almost done with my draft grades as well, 11th year and still get nervous.

is he fast enough?

From what I've read and seen on tape...yes. He played LB "officially" at ND but was matched against slot receivers in coverage at times. He may be redundant with Dugger if he isn't as fast as advertised, but if he truly has 4.4 speed he could be a tougher version of Devin McCourty. I've seen him going at 18 in the area of the Pats pick but he's also been mentioned with Buffalo at 30 so we'll see. He hasn't run his 40 but one profile said this about him:

2021 NFL Draft prospect Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah is a 6-foot 1, 216-pound athlete with 4.4 speed who has become a tackling machine within the Notre Dame defensive front, taking snaps from a variety of positions. According to Pro Football Focus’s snap tracker, Owusu-Koramoah has taken 107 snaps from the defensive line, 218 from the box, and 352 from the slot.
Comparison: Jamal Adams is arguably the best safety, and possibly best defensive player in the NFL, and no 2021 NFL Draft prospect has earned the right to be compared to such a talent. Regardless of this, the snap distribution, physical, profile, and style of play of Owusu-Koramoah all have a striking resemblance to the perennial All-Pro.

They do if they’re willing to gamble. They can slap the franchise tag on him next offseason. The upside is it would allow the team to have another season to decide whether they want to keep him or not, without being financially obligated to him. Something they may want to consider given his inability to stay out of the trainer’s room (missed 30 of a possible 48 games so far). The downside is it would cost a lot more to keep him through the franchise tag, though they always have the ability to negotiate an extension if they like what they see. Either way I expect them to draft an OT. Yodny Cajuste was supposed to be that fallback option when they drafted him in the 3rd two years ago but he hasn’t played at all due to injury.

If Wynn doesn't play all 17 regular season games this year, after missing 70% of games the past 3 years, I would argue Wynn isn't worth a $10M/yr extension.

Unfortunately, the decision has to be made long before the season starts.

5th-year option is early May, I think, and I expect the Pats will pick it up, since they have no one ready to step in and a left tackle will cost you more than that.

1)Jets have a ton of picks. They're in a great spot in terms of draft picks the next few year's. If they can't crawl out the hole after this they should be sold to someone else.

2)ATL holds a huge card and probably told anyone listening (Carolina and others) you better be prepared to give us a haul for #4 overall. Not just a few 1st but high picks and a legit player.

I can't see Bill moving up to #4 if it's multiple 1st and mids. 1 or 2 good players.

Who's knows just speculating but Carolina would have most likely checked in with ATL before making this deal.

3)I thought QB's were going 1-4 and this kind of confirms it imo. Again speculation but ATL is taking a QB or auctioning off that pig for a prize. I can't not see QB's going 1-4 now. Mentioned this before but this gives Cinci some leverage holding the key to the last door for a QB. Decent drop off after the big 4-5 so teams won't be messing around. Big 5 goes top ten.

Dito, I guess a trade up to 7 or 8 will do it rn except some other team like WFT trades up heavy to 4/5. But if i'm ATL Cincy and Miami I'm going Pitts Sewell and Chase in that order. Just too good to pass here.

value has to be right but I do agree players like Pitts, Sewell etc you don't pass on them until someone overpays (several1st/2nd round picks) to take your spot

Yep if a team like idk WFT Bears or sth are willing to give up 3 firsts or sth i pass on them cause 3 firsts are giving so much opportunities to select playmakers trade down etc. Idk if there will be another trade like the 49ers package.
