You can just go back to the Jets. It is obvious you have no clue about this team.
Been a fan and one who pays attention a lot longer than you.
Why don’t you tell me how we are going to fix the gaping hemorrhaging hole at QB.

Most of the people hating on Jones have never watched Jones. They simply say, he plays for Alabama he is a product of the system, their team is sooooo good. But then they ignore the fact that Lawrence and Fields both played for teams that were almost as good. Then they say he isn't athletic enough to play in today's nfl and then he runs a 4.68 with a 32" vertical. Trevor Lawrence runs a 4.7 with a 28.3" vertical. Then they say well he only did it for 1 year, but then 2 of the other top 5 qbs they rank above him only played for a year, one in d2.

I am not sure he is the answer, but to imply he sucks is just ignorant.

Two things on the bledsoe trade: 1) we were 1 year into a 10 year 100 mill contract; we were looking to dump him to whoever offered the most compensation, but mostly 2) we had the much better qb on the team so going up against drew with TB sounded pretty good. Going up against fields for the next decade with tua as your qb doesn’t sound as appealing, which is why the pats would’ve had to beat the niners offer by quite a bit to get to 3. Maybe an additional 1 or multiple 2s in addition to the 3 1s.
How is the Bledsoe trade any different. If Miami thought fields was that much better than tua they would have stayed put. I’m sure belichick preferred to get the bills #1 than someone else’s because it weakened them

We disagree. I think teams will trade to whoever makes the best offer. They aren’t making a trade they think they lose, so if you trade with a rival you hurt them as well.
I get that you see it differently but I don’t see logic or evidence that supports it.

Do you think Miami believes a franchise is better off with Josh Fields than 3 1s and a 3. Of course not. They feel they got the better end of the deal.

Perhaps if you have a player you are forced to trade and can’t get value for him then you aren’t trading in your division.

I mean I am not married to my opinion, but I haven’t seen any history or logic that sways me.

Clearly he doesn’t suck. He just doesn’t seem to be as good as the others.
Playing against mismatched competition doesn’t make you suck. That would mean anyone playing QBs at that school would have to suck. But what it does it create unanswered questions about how he plays without that advantage. That’s what you have to evaluate.

San Fran paid a fortune to Jimmy G and now apparently doesn't want him. How are ya'll making sense of that so that the outcome is that he'll be good in NE but wasn't in SF? Curious.
Because he's more familiar with the system and seemed to flourish in it?

But those are the same questions that should be raised for all 5 of the top 5 qb's, but somehow it just gets raised about Jones. Clemson, and Ohio State were amazing. BYU played against marginal opponents. North Dakota State was dominant at d2, d freaking 2. My guess is Jones has a much better chance of being a great qb in the nfl than at least 3 of the others do.

It comes down to skills. I think most people evaluate them as

1) Lawrence
2/3) fields/Wilson or Wilson/fields
4) Lance
5) Jones

I’m talking about real evaluators. You can’t put anything on what people writing in a message board who have barely seen them play, much less evaluate them are going to say.

Personally I think the success of a QB has a lot more to do with the coaching he gets, how he takes the coaching and the kind of team he is on than slight differences in where they are today.

If you really dig into it I think you find that QBs drafted in say the top 10 or 15 end up with a success or failure rate that resembles who is coaching them pretty closely.

That makes no sense at all.

You are literally setting us up for a huge bust.

It's nonsense.

Thank God you're not the GM.
John Lynch agrees with me and he did it with a qb way better than we have.
How do you propose we solve the gaping hemorrhaging hole we have at QB?
I mean this is what they cost.

How could you possibly even know how long I have been a fan? You are just a blowhard and legend in your own mind. I believe Plan A is Jimmy G. If Bill cannot land him in 2021 because SF won't trade him, Bill can wait until the off-season when a trade is welcomed or he is cut. Plan B is the draft. He will not mortgage the future of the team, however. If he trades up, he has his guy in mind and it's worth his price. If his guy is not available, a project like Mond will be taken later. Plan C is to ride this season with Cam and figure out the QB situation next year. Did you know there is a daft next year and there will be another top 5 QBs next year too? Sam Howell, Kedon Slovis, Bo Nix, Spencer Rattler, Brock Purdy, and Tanner Morgan could all be in that convo. All these plans are on the table at this point.

Lynch is on the path to be fired..

I propose that the Pats remain flexible, which is what BB has done, and strike when the opportunity presents itself.

Your proposal is a spastic response such as " trade for Wentz" BS and the such.. Calm down. BB will fix this and find the guy.

Do you remember when you used to like BB?

His fixing it so far had the GOAT end up in Tampa and Cam Newton STILL our starting QB.
Yup I wanted to trade for the best qb we could get and if it was a reclamation project draft one in the first round too.
because this is a critical problem. Absolutely nothing has been done to fix it.

He has not acquired numerous QBs who were available and instead bright back the same slug who proved he doesn’t belong and you can’t win with him last year. Is that what being calm and finding the guy is?
Now there is a draft loaded with QBs and he lets another team trade up to get one of them.

I don’t do well with seeing every capable QB go elsewhere, ending up with the worst QB in the NFL and losing again.

I love BB but he so far is totally screwing up this team by blatantly ignoring the most important spot on the field.

The longer BB waits...the harder it may be to get a high quality QB...however it's only March. The first game is in September.

He is running out of options.

My guess is Niners want Fields. If they wanted Jones they could have gone just in front of Patriots rather than all the way up to 3.

Panthers wants Lance. Still unsure who Patriots like.
