Le’Veon Bell sat out the entire 2018 season, so it’s not unprecedented.

If he dogs it, he gets suspended, the team goes after his bonus, and he becomes a pariah. Just ask T.O.. People will put up with a lot of nonsense, but nobody likes a guy who shivs his teammates like that. The only way Houston "loses" is if Houston blinks.
I doubt he'd dog it. But not bad skipping camp and most of the season, to then show up n play for 6 weeks to make almost 40% of his salary.

I had Wolfe on my GM plan that goes to BAL and BB takes Judon.

Didn't think BB would upgrade my wish list :)
Me too, I think I mentioned Wolfe in your thread as an early down DE option for our run defense...Judon was my first choice but I never thought Bill would pay him..

If needed, there are players on this team BB can cut or extend to create cap space. Money really isn't an issue right now so much as the availability of the players. It is remarkable that we signed this many guys and still have this much cap space left in case an opportunity becomes available. But looking at this roster, I actually think Cam have a chance taking us to the playoffs. Offensively and defensively, we are wayyyy better than last year for sure.
I’m not sure anyone believes we only go into the season with Newton. And I’m pulling for him.
Darnold Jimmy G Mariota Trubiksy could all be in play.
Lance or Fields if we are talking draft

And how is that, in any way, a win for Watson?

And how is that, in any way, a win for Watson?
Absolutely. He doesn't have to play much for an organization that he doesn't like.

Also keep in mind Houston would then have to decide whether or not to play him. If he were to get injured after not having camp to prep, Houston would still have to pay his guaranteed money. Not to mention lose some trade value.

And Houston at that point may be tanking. Playing Watson could mess that up.

Wonder how much for Sanders. I was just thinking some teams are going to pick up good receivers for $10-$12M/yr instead of $15-$18M/yr.
