It wasn't 15M for a guard. And the team didn't OVER-ACHIEVE. They under-achieved. Had Newton been even HALF-DECENT for the 2nd half of the season, the Pats would have been 9-7 or 10-6..

No. it wasn't a strange move when you consider that BB builds from the Lines out. And you're assuming that the Patriots would have gotten another pick. Considering the amount of money it would have freed up, it's unlikely because they'd have likely signed one or more players since they'd have had cap space PRIOR to the restructure of Mason's deal that freed up space. And PRIOR to their getting the money from the grievances.
He tagged Thuney when Stidham was his only QB on the roster.

Before Cam was signed in JUNE we were joking that Bill was tanking for Lawrence.

So yes it was a blunder unless you honestly think Stidham is a great QB waiting for his chance

Did you see Linsley's contract? He's gone, but the way Bill's throwing money at players who knows.
Andrews isn’t lindsley

Duh. Linsley set the market. Andrews is the sole remaining top center. Boy getting paid >>$7M-$9M

Andrews isnt the top remaining center and what the top guy gets doesn’t translate to what a mediocre guy gets.

It hasn't stopped up from keep signing players...a lot of incentive deals....Also, Andrews will come back to the Pats to see if they match the deal when/if he gets one

As i said yesterday - no Andrews news today is the best news.
Yea we really won't know the structure of these deals until later.

Need time or Miguel to start pounding Red Bulls and get to work.

These are all max contracts. Im not sure if we even saw any of the base contracts except Agholor..

Id have them around 20M cap left atm (all reported signings incl Brown, JC likely tender..)

If Agholor Bourne means Jules is finished that adds some 3M.

Beau, LaCosse, Vitale = c 4M.

Hightower extension 6.5M

etc

The cap hit being only 4m doesn't change the fact he is making at least 8m for this year. The rest is just fancy accounting to manipulate the cap.

The Bucs will be garbage in 3 years unless they nail the next 2 drafts including a reliable QB. But it's gonna be glorious to see Brady getting maximized for his final run

The Bucs will not be garbage because they have a TON of young talent. Gronk is “making” 8 mill but that doesn’t matter since the hit is all that matters.

Now that Linsely signed for what I predicted to be just over Ryan Kelley at $12.5M, I can see Andrews asking/getting $9-$10M.

With all the money the Jags have, the slow market for the top WRs, and them drafting Trevor Lawrence; I figured they would make a bigger free agent signing than Dorsett on the first day. The guy missed last year and was only a good role player here.

If teams aren't careful these dummy years can add up.

In 3 years after Brady has retired and the future spending the Bucs have done this off-season catches up will make them terrible unless they nail the draft.

The Bucs won't have the cap space in 3 years for a vet QB if they re-sign players like Godwin, Vea, and White. Plus David and Dean.
