SMH. At least Brady got his unanimous MVP a couple years later.

Less than 60% completion %, less than 4000 pass yards, and double digits INTs for the almost unanimous MVP. And fewer rush TDs and only 40 yards less rushing than he had in 2020 with us. Alrighty then.

Borges was the one that voted for Palmer lol.

"Scam"? God this moniker is lame.

Why would you actively root against players on the team you supposedly root for?
"Scam" came from his hype videos last year that fooled people like myself thinking he would excel here. We've seen enough and want a change. The fact that he signed before FA may signal the starting job is his to lose.

Pretty crazy this guy threw 35tds that year and least year only threw 8

How do you know Cam is starting?

His contract makes him very cut-able; his guaranteed money is pretty insignificant - $4.9m, about 1/3 of the overall contract value. Even if he was kept on the roster, that's not a guarantee he's starting.

I'm not sure why you'd draw that conclusion with such certainty. Because it happened last season, therefore it will happen again? Each season is different.
Nobody knows anything. Nobody can be sure of anything. Everything anyone says here is conjecture.

So, given that premise, and based on the timing, contract structure, amount, and all other information about the other FA QBs, QBs under contract, Pats draft position, past history with Cam, Bill's own words about Cam, the many holes on the roster, the lack of talent on the roster, the increased competition in AFCE, I've come up with my own more than likely scenario of how this team is proceeding in the rebuild phase.

1. I'm a realist not a homer. Never expected a "miracle" turnaround after losing the GOAT. Rebuild will take several years.

2. Unless Bill is deaf, dumb and blind he must realize his team doesn't have the talent to be a contender. I don't think he's known to be ultra religious but even if he is, it's doubtful he's relying on miracles. So, he will patiently rebuild the team, which takes time. If he's smart, he already told Kraft it was going to take 3+ years. He's smart.

3. From all of the above, the QBOF isn't available yet. Maybe it's one of this year's top 5 QBs. Idk. Maybe it'll be in next years draft. So, it doesn't matter if it's Cam or anyone else to fill in the void. Except Cam has benefits others don't so he signed him early to pull him off the market.

4. He can now focus on acquiring the talent he's identified in FAcy to rebuild the team. I hope he goes after top talent. He'll probably go after mid level bargains. Who knows.

So, I'm confident enough to bet on it if you want. Lol

stop with the "raise" red herring, Andy...the contract is a 3.5 mil pittance by NFL QB standards. It's March 12th...don't jump in the lifeboat yet
I agree totally.

I was thinking about "why now". I doubt very much that anyone else was banging o Cam's door OR would likely to be doing so anytime before the draft, so it would very legitimate for breast beaters to bring this up. (....and I'm playing the straight man for you in case you didn't notice. ;). )

So I gave it some thought and this is what I came up with.

1l In a situation where none of the QB's you could be interested in is likely to shake loose anytime soon, and you need to have at least SOMETHING in place as you go into the initial 2 phases of the FA market over the next month. Cam fits that bill very will.

So why does Cam do it. Why shouldn't he wait a few weeks or after the draft to pick a team. Maybe one who didn't get the QB they wanted in the draft, or missed out on the vet market, or all the trades everyone is taking for granted just don't happen. Here at least he will have a shot at starting. He lis comfortable with the staff and culture, (though he really needs to add a scalley cap to his collection if he really wants to fit in. ) And finally he avoids the insecurity that comes waiting for his phone to ring. He's now secure on where he is going. I doubt VERY much Bill guaranteed anything more than the option to compete for the job, Why would he have? He knows that no one was pounding on his door. He knows he gave Cam a deal that he can walk away from in a nano-second......and so does Cam.

Like I said before on this thread, Cam was the first step in improving the QB room for this season....not the last like last year.

That was so close, but I don't think it even comes down to that. Gronk makes chain moving catches during the game that probably seals it.

Or if Brady makes an accurate throw to Welker.

Jk, I don’t give a f*ck about Brady anymore. Those here who were perhaps triggered by my comment can now unbunch your panties and refocus on the team that you supposedly love....because you couldn’t possibly stop supporting the Pats because Brady is gone. Right?

Without all the injuries on Offense in 2015 Brady would have been the MVP that year.

4770 yds 36 TD 7 INT 102.2 rating

Ladies and gentlemen, your quarterback of the future...

God please let him be a veteran presence not the main man.

sounds like you have issues because there’s nothing pleasant about watching Hoyer or Stidham play. Early in the season, Cam looked pretty good. Whatever the problem was, the front office felt there’s a pretty good chance they can work around it or fix it.

he is undefeated against Brady

Super Bowl XXXVIII?

the pats are my team.....watched them suck much worse than 7-9.......you’re the idiot that assumes I want them to suck. But it might be just the thing to get rid of you pink hats
Ok hardo

I’m rooting against him? I just think he sucks as a qb. This is my opinion I formed after watching him play last season.

His Superman thing rubbed me the wrong way last year. Even more when he did it after a running TD against the jets in week 17 after the putrid season he posted. Nothing wrong with it when you are balling but when you are as bad as he was it make you look like a clown.

I dunno why you care, Belichick doesn’t.

Thread is everything I dreamed it would be
Yes, a gianormous fecal eruption that Mt St Helens, Vesuvius, and Krakatoa would all be proud of!

More butthurt than a truckload of Preparation H could ever fix!

And it’s a legitimate concern. In 35 years in the NFL Bill Belichick has never been this stupid about anything.
and this doesn't have you reconsider your own position? How humble of you.

His footwork went down the drain after the COVID break. If he can get back to how it looked against e.g. Seattle he will instantly look a lot better as a thrower. The challenge will be to keep it at a consistent level for the entire season. And then he also needs to stop forcing throws at times but that is something that might get better as he grasps the offense better and knows where his outlets are.

Still a ****ton of work for him this offseason to get there.
Everything is Covids fault these days.

They just showed some of Cams INTs on ESPN.

Brutal decision making. Staring down the WR. The guy is not a passing QB and wants to run and be superman.
