Interesting development on the Jimmy G front

None of this makes sense to me. The Niners have made clear that they cannot afford to re-sign Richard Sherman. Bringing in Gilmore just worsens the problem, no? And if the team is cap strapped, why are they going to spend $22 million on a vet stopgap?

Cousin, Jimmie G is an option. Most Posters would like Jimmie G.
I could not believe this. I looked at the stats.

Cousins, look at the numbers between
Jimmie: 48 Games 67.5% completion, 8,042 YARDS, 51 TDs, 26 INT
Mitch: 51 Games 64% completion 10,609 TARDS, 64 TDs , 37 INT

Mitch is 3 years younger (29 versus 26). He will not requires Draft capitol

2,000 MORE YARDS AND 13 MORE TDs in only 3 more games.

Using 2017 as a starting point>
Jimmie G has missed 34 games
Mitch has missed 14 games

O.K. Gents. I am leaving the Jimmie G caravan

Youre spot on the money. May I add that Mitch was not injured for 7 of those 14 missed games due to Nicky Foles stinking the field up. Granted, Mitch earned the benching and when he returned behind Center, his play improved. Chicago had OL issues early on, but eventually figured out a starting OL lineup and better blocking scheme.

The Bears run game got better and Mitch got better.

3 boxes check off for Mitch in NE.

1 NE typically has a stellar OL.
2 NE has a top tier run game.
3 Mitch is surprisingly mobile. He can take off and pick up a 1st no problem. His speed is deceiving.

Gilmore is in the last year of his contract. All SF would be on the hook for is his 2021 Salary and extras.

NE eats his signing bonus. I dont want Jimmy. I want picks and cap space with Surtain @ # 15.

49ers may be calling Carolina because they may know that Watson will be traded there much like Stafford predicted a few days prior he would be traded to the LA Rams.

Poor 9ers fans.

Don see how watson ends up in Carolina. Houston doesn’t want bridgewater or that 8th pick. I still think he ends up in miami when it’s all said and done. That will suck more.

I don't think Watson is going anywhere. Houston has significant leverage over him in that they can fine him up to $20 million. I think they mean it when they said they are not interested in moving him.

Why can I hear Bill talking about value when I see anything to do with Jimmy's contract and possible trade? Another example of teams wanting off these contracts. Brady did it right for so many years. Outperform the contract, leave money on the table to fill out the rest of the roster. It's not that hard.

What kind of market do you see Mitch generating for himself? I don't mind me some Trubisky....but at what price point? I don't think I do anything bigger than 15M one year deal with incentives.....

I see a prove it type deal don't you?

Where both sides win.

In regards to his market, with the exception of the draft, so few teams are looking for a starting QB.

There's rumors he wants to go there.

Some report was stating trubisky for 2 year 14 million. I would do that in a jiffy. Or 2 year 30 million with second year laden with close to 10 million in second year incentives. He can run and can throw some decent passes. If we bolster the offensive line, we should be good to go. Draft stub CB in first round, stud WR in round 2 and bolster line with FA young players who are looking for next big contract on a 1 year prove it deal.

I would be ok with Mitch as long as they procured a top rookie QB in the draft.

If the top 5 qb’s are off the board by 15, I think we should grab mills in the third or fourth round.

his tape has some really impressive bits and I wonder how much he could grow in our offense.
