"Only 50 deaths", "let's see how it plays out"

Should be on the list.

Dude.....

Yeah. Brady never cost us any Super Bowl. Yes he has had some Super Bowl games that weren't better than some of his others but in 10 tries he's never had a real stinker game like say Peyton Manning in SB48 that cost his team the game. Zero bad SB games out of 10... not too shabby at all.

Too bad Belichick benched Malcolm Butler or he could have had similar bragging rights.

Belichick had a stinker in SB 42. He even apologised but doesn’t change the fact that our game plan sucked and we made no adjustments

This is just plain Brady jock sniffing. SB 46 was not a good game for him. He wasn't great in SB 53 either besides the one great throw to Gronk. But I'm sure you'll find a way to blame Bill.

How in the world is it cherry-picking? It's an absolute fact he had the rug pulled out from under him. This is just bizarre denial of a basic fact about what Modell did.

Even the QB that Belichick preferred (much to Modell's dismay) ended up going to multiple Pro Bowls while Modell's preference (Kosar) flamed out and never played again. Belichick's decisions were the right ones. In the 20 games prior to Modell pulling that stuff the Browns were 15-6. As soon as he did that, they went 2-10.
It’s cherry picking because you want people to ignore the bad years and only focus on the 11-5 and just assume that would’ve kept going.

Wrong. It's looking at the way teams build. The year in question came right after an 11-5 year. The first years aren't being ignored. They are part of a process of building.

Brady played ok in both. Not sure what games you were watching if you think he was terrible.

He also wasn't asked to put the team on his back in SB53. If he was I have no doubt he would have lit up the Rams.

I only blame Bill for benching Malcolm Butler and thus singlehandedly throwing away a Super Bowl and one of the all time championship performances from his QB that you'll ever see in any sport anywhere.

When did I ever say that any average QB could have won three Super Bowls with the Pats? Stop twisting my words. I am not even going to bother to read and respond to the rest of your post when you lead with a statement like that.
Oh pardon me, what was it?... any average QB could have won two Super Bowls with the Pats. Twisting your words?... that's a copout and you know it.

You said Brady was lucky in the Snow Bowl when the officials upheld a legitimate call by the NFL rulebook. You also apparently have no regard for 140 4th quarter and OT passing yards in a blizzard. You think Peyton Manning wins a game like that outdoors in the elements?

You said Manning would have had an easier time with the Rams in the Super Bowl when Manning sucked that year leading his team to a sub .500 record (something Brady has never done in 19 seasons) and no postseason. Frankly you sound like a delusional Manning fan. The Brady vs Manning debate has been laughably lopsided for over a decade.

You said the first "2 or 3" Super Bowls were not about Brady and were more about Belichick and the defenses. You called Brady a game manager and not elite. You said the Patriots could have won those Super Bowls (2 or 3) with other quarterbacks. You denying you said these things?

Also I asked you this...
Name any other quarterback in the history of the league who was a game manager yet won 3 Super Bowls and 2 Super Bowl MVP's in his first 4 years as a starter. Or at any point in his career.

You keep ridiculously repeating Brady wasn't elite during 2001-2004 (or 2001-2003)... name any quarterback in the NFL was better than Brady during that span of time.
To the first part you gave some convoluted answer that didn't fit the criteria. As yet you still haven't answered the question. I suspect because there isn't one.

To the second part you responded Manning, Favre, Warner and Gannon. You gave up on the latter two almost immediately and I think we've blown the other two out of the water by now as well.

In Belichick's system and with the Pats stacked defenses, those other QBs in their primes would have done just fine. Maybe not 6 super bowls, but certainly 3-4. It's not as if Brady uplifted a crappy Pats team and won those games by himself.
Belichick's system??? LOL!!! You talking offense? That's funny... offenses under Belichick with quarterbacks not named Brady have sucked.

Belichick's offenses without Brady:
8 seasons
2 of 16 rankings inside top 10 in P/G or Y/G. And both were in 2008, one season after they had the greatest offense in league history.

Belichick's offenses with Brady:
18 seasons
29 of 36 rankings inside top 10 in P/G or Y/G.

Also I already showed what those hall of fame quarterbacks did with hall of fame head coaches. Their best results combined pale in comparison to Brady's so there's no way one could legitimately say any other QB could have even approached Brady's success.

It's absolutely cherry picking. Belichick's Browns went 6-10, then 7-9 twice, then had a one year bump where he went 11-5. He then proceeded to drop back down to 5-11, and to lose his job.

The notion that, in the context of this discussion, a one year aberration should be the takeaway from that tenure is an absurdity.

You totally ignore Art Modell blowing up the franchise. Typical. Cherrypicking facts.

Yeah, BB is 2-6 for .500+ seasons without Brady.

But at the end of the day....no NFL all time great coach did it without a QB (shrugs).

Yep. It’s just interesting to me how many times people say that the Pats scored a touchdown with a couple of minutes left to take the lead in the 2011 game.

It’s probably because of what your citing here, because Brady has done it so many times we just sort of mentally assume that’s what happened.
Wasn't that the Welker missed pass game?

Of course he is. He's been doing this for decades. Context is ignored in Deus World.

Deus hates Bill. Always has. Always will.

I said he was a game manager. That doesn’t make you average. If you are a really good game manager, you can be a very good QB. You can’t be elite though because you are not asked to do anything over and above all that often. But efficiency is required for a great game manager and only very good QBs are really efficient.

And I gave you the example of the Redskins because they were an example where they won two Super Bowls in a short period of time with two different mediocre game managers.

We will never know what Belichick could have done without Modell. Sure, he could have still flamed out. Or maybe he would have brought a Testeverde led team to the Super Bowl.

Ironically, Browns fans hated Belichick for dumping Kosar as many Pats fans hate him now for the Brady divorce. He was right for dumping Kosar. I guess we will have to wait to see if moving on from Brady ends out working for him and the Patriots.

Well, Brady proved he still had it this year so there was no point in moving on from him really. Brady wouldn't have brought this team a Super Bowl this year BUT still there didn't seem to be a point in moving on.

I suppose it's possible that this year Brady will flame out badly in Tampa Bay, which might make the lack of a 2 year offer look better in retrospect, but I seriously doubt it. Not to mention that the money saved in 2021 would have to be put to very good use by the Patriots.

Bernie went over the cliff and started drawing plays in the sand because he couldn't complete the throws anymore. Not good.

That's exactly right. Why you should hold on to the elite QB you have rather than join the queue hoping for one.
