Belichick should trade the 1st rounder for Garoppolo

Yeah. OL was better and running game was better in 2020 than 2019.

Front 7 was much worse, secondary was worse, WR was worse. Coaching was worse too- it wasn’t a great year for Bill or Josh.

The odds Brady gets the 2020 Patriots team to 12 wins are as close to zero as it gets. To be fair that’s the GM’s fault more than Brady’s and Brady’s absence shone a spotlight on the deficient roster.
That makes literally zero sense.

Brady won a championship throwing to just two WRs in 2001. Brady basically made a career out of throwing to less than stellar WR corps. But suddenly we're supposed to assume that he couldn't have made Meyers and Byrd better than they were with Newton?

Why do people on this (and far too many other) board just chuck logical consistency out the window just because they want to make some dubious point?

No one is saying meyers and byrd wouldn't be better with Brady vs. Newton. Obviously with a better passer they would have better stats.

You are saying the Patriots would be a Contender. Most are saying with their lack of talent they would not be.

What is the excuse for 2019? They got hosed by the Titans. And now our offensive talent is worse

I forgot to add:

For all the talk about just how bad the WRs were last year, and they were terrible, the sad truth is that this team's TEs were worse. And they were much worse.

Now, I don't know to a certainty that Brady could have done more with that dross than Newton was able to. I do know, though, that Brady's game has historically been all about throwing into the tightest of windows, in order to give his receivers a chance to catch the ball, while minimizing the potential for negative plays. Cam's game, on the other hand, has always been more about getting the ball somewhere near his target, some of the time.

Just to point out:

Brady took the Patriots to 12 wins last year, even as the OL became a complete dumpster fire, and the WR corps collapsed. Brady would likely have been in position to improve upon 12-4 and a 1st round bounce this year, because the line was better.
Do you know NFL stands for 'not for long' .. that means an NFL team could be completely different from one year to the next.

Brady took the Patriots to 12 wins LAST YEAR. It is a year to year league. In 2020 the defense turned into a shell of its 2019 form and Edelman missed 10 games.

Outside of Brady not here, the 2020 and 2019 Patriots rosters are night and day.

Cam had nobody to pass to of course his pass #'s would suffer .. yet Cam still only net 5 less TD this season (TD/Giveaways) than Jimmy G's '19 season

Didn't Brady account for 1 TD that entire championship run?

Brady's last two rings came against a team not scoring a TD .. Rams, Chiefs, held to 0 TD's in 8 quarters ..

Brady, you GOAT, you ..

He ran for one against the Raiders and left the game with an injury against Pittsburg. Why on earth are Pats fans so hell bent on proving Tom Brady couldn't do this or couldn't do that? Cripes we had to argue against Jets, Colts and Steelers trolls for 20 years. Now he's gone and we get that from Pats fans who probably defended him against them before.

If you want to have a back-and-forth, first please bring something to the table. The notion that the "2020 and 2019 Patriots rosters are night and day." just doesn't hold water.

And Brady & Co. put up 31 against the Chiefs, so why are you talking about how many TDs the Chiefs scored?

Howe answered a Garoppolo question in his mailbag today:

It’s also my opinion the 49ers are bluffing as they repeatedly and publicly state their desire to keep Garoppolo. I think they just want to create some urgency on their asking price. Still, I’d be surprised if he cost more than a Saturday pick. Maybe desperation changes things, but I wouldn’t go any higher than a fourth-rounder.

Teams don't throw away QBs that take them to the SB. Well at least smart ones, I'm sure there is another QB who has taken his team to 10 SB just waiting in the wings for BB to pick up.

It looks more and more like Cam in 2021

2020- Tom/Pat- stay
2019- Pat/Jimmy- stay/TBD
2018-Tom/Goff- both gone
2017-Tom/Foles both gone
2016-Tom/Ryan- gone/maybe?
2015- P Manning/Cam- retired/gone
2014-Tom/Wilson- gone/TBD?

He would throw a f____ing party if Shaq was traded.
I don't get why as I don't think he's contract is that bad. He's way down my list of hated Pats.

Capt doesn't like anyone BB drafts but his hatred for Shaq is odd.

Shaq has been fine. Maybe hes a little overpaid and gets dinged up too much but hes been a solid player.

I want Mason's contract restructured to better reflect his current status. He's young enough to have dummy years added to it without pain.

Mason was good last season; Thuney was great last season...And Mason for whatever reason sucked in 2019; he, Cannon (again, for whatever reason) & Newhouse all sucked in 2019...Thuney didn't suck in 2019...

If Thuney does indeed sign elsewhere, I don't want to hear a damn word from Foxborough, the press, or this board about the folly of committing so much cap space to two Guards...The solution is simple: Keep The Better Guard.

If however Mason is traded & Thuney is re-signed, an in-house replacement at RG is already available (Onwenu) or just needs to be re-signed at a fraction of the cost of Mason's contract (Elmanure)...There is, on the other hand, NOBODY in the building capable of replacing Thuney.
