Andy Reid’s son involved in serious accident while intoxicated

View attachment 30184Philip Rivers scoffs at that. The man doesn’t know the definition of “pull-out”. He can just look at his wife and the rabbit dies.

That woman has a nice smile but she does look a tad tired. I wonder if they have hired help, I would assume that's essential.

According to the article the police didn't find any drugs at Reid's home.

"While police found only weapons and ammunition - and not drugs - at the house, O'Neill apparently based his remarks on Britt Reid's statement that he once mistakenly grabbed a Vicodin tablet instead of health supplements out of a pill drawer at the home."
From the beginning of the article.

Not sure why it contradicts itself....

O'Neill noted that searches of the Reid home found illegal and prescription drugs throughout the house. He said both boys had been overmedicated throughout much of their lives and that Britt got hooked on painkillers when he suffered a football injury in high school.

It also says this

So it seems the quote you posted is inaccurate.

Appears to be substance abuse from two sons. Would bet my house on a genetic problem with addiction. So many parents are also victims of addiction as they watch their kids succumb to it.

I’m not excusing anyone who makes the worst possible decisions, especially those that put others in danger. But it’s irresponsible at best to cast blame on Andy Reid for this without knowing specifics.

Blaming ‘genetics’ is always such a great excuse for no self control or will, and eliminating responsibility for this sort of stuff. Are some more susceptible? Sure. But doesn’t mean there’s no alternative.

You find what you’re looking for.

I specifically said there’s no excuse for Britt Reid. The entire point was about Andy Reid. Or should he take personal responsibility for someone else?

Not wading in except to say, in the road safety world, they stopped saying "accident" a long time ago, especially for impairment crashes of any kind. Not being pedantic and saying to change it, but if the story is right and he drove impaired and put these children in the hospital, "accident" seems like an especially un-apt word for what happened.

I see only 50K donated so far. I would hope the Chiefs organization and principals would drive that number up significantly.

if he really left from Chiefs facility, that organization will be paying plenty.. easily in the 8 figure range

************. I always kind of scoffed at the notion that it hits different to see kids suffer when you have a kid of your own but it really does. I can’t even imagine what I would do to Reid if this were my kid right now.

Ever since my son was born, I came to the realization that I could take another human life (in the right circumstances, im not a homicidal maniac)

That's only 1.75 k/w.
Dude needs to pick it up.

Silver: I will seek out and destroy Tom Brady until he admits his Deflategate sins. Galynn Brady and her cancer will just have to deal with it. This is journalism and this is justice.

Silver: I send my prayers to the Reid family for everything they must be going through right now.

Mike Silver is disgusting

They mentioned the whole thing for a matter of seconds towards the end of the game. It helps that andy reid is helpful with the media. The exact opposite reason people are willing to roast BB today after the bucs win.
Peter king did a long interview ithe andy reid in his car a while back. He had this to say in his million word column today about it

"Reid was buttoned up after the game, for legal reasons, but acknowledged it. This story promises to be huge in the post-Super Bowl landscape and rightfully so."

Thats it.

I don’t know what to say, I pray the little child pulls through. People need to stop making dump decisions like this! If you take a medication or drinking take a damn Uber/Lyft or call a friend! This is unacceptable!

If I happen to stop at the NFLN and Silver's face is on the screen, I immediately change the channel...I cannot stand the sight of him.

Haven't read Peter Queen since his bloviating during 2007.

I was just looking at where the accident happened (on a on ramp to Interstate 435 from Stadium Rd) and unless he doubled back to the Chiefs facility after going to a bar, there is nothing even remotely like a drinking establishment between the stadium and the accident site.

Pretty good recount of the facts, and yes, they did take his blood....

Of course Goodell will sweep this under the rug, but if he was drinking at the facility, this family is going to sue the Chiefs for ...

Of course parents take personal responsibility for the children they raise.

He should take responsibility for allowing his son to have a job with the Chiefs and all of the **** that comes down on that organization for this - I agree with that. I highly doubt his son gets this job if his last name isn't Reid, and from the buzz I've read on the Chiefs boards, Britt is an overall jackass that shouldn't be in that position anyway. So yes, Andy Reid is responsible for that.

But I know parents who have raised more than one child and one is an alcoholic or drug addict while the others are absolutely fine people. Sure - you can ask the parent to take responsibility having a drug addict or alcholoic kid, whatever that means to take responsibility. Trying to get them help, doing everything imaginable to fix a problem that sometimes cannot be fixed, is what a parent can do and often do.

We don't know enough about Andy Reid and what he's done. My point is we can't just say "he's a bad parent" or "it was Britt's upbringing" or whatever. Who knows...but parents aren't always to blame for these problems themselves. Best not to speculate too far.

Shocked if he doesn't get life in prison. I knew a guy in his early 20's who ran a red light while intoxicated, a cop saw it and chased him. The driver floored it over 100mph trying to dodge the cop as he already had one or two DUI's. He crashed into another vehicle at an intersection killing a guy. He's been serving life in prison since his early 20's. This was about 16 years ago. There was some controversy during the time questioning how the cop handled this by turning on the lights and chasing him. The cop had a lot of guilt over this.

When a judge says Andy Reid’s home was a drug den it’s not a huge speculation.

My point however was that parents will hold themselves responsible for the people their children become. Yes it’s not a 100% correlation but a parent who raises 2 good kids and 2 bad kids didn’t break even.
