They signed a ST player with experience under Patricia and BoB going into the final game of a season at a time where they have over 20 people on the injury report.

Does anyone actually need it to be spelled it out ? I think it is overwhelmingly obvious why he was signed for one week.

Not sure there is anything to lose from giving a ST specialist a futures deal/2021 deal to show up for OTAs and camp.

There won't be much -- if any -- guaranteed money and if Slater retires/Bethel doesn't get resigned/some else gets injured and there is some positional shuffling then there is someone on the expanded camp roster who can immediately help. If he is trash he will be gone even faster.
