Debate Brady vs Belichick?

What we have learned this year is that BB was unsuccessful with one of the worst starting QB's in the league. How he does with a league average or better QB is to be determined and I am hopeful we get a chance to analyze that next year.

"Wait a minute. Was Kosar really done?"

He was also unsuccessful with an in prime Bledsoe.

Prime? Bledsoe never made the playoffs after he went to buffalo and Dallas.
He was 29. Not making the playoffs does not mean he was not in his prime. He had went to the Super Bowl at 25.

Bledsoe sucked in 2000. Winning 5 games with the team and cap nightmare he inherited was a miracle.

It's stunning but Bill has to be the only coach whose losing seasons are considered some of the best coaching in NFL history. Other coaches win 5 or 6 games and they are bums. Bill wins 5 or 6 and he should be in the convo for COY.

The guy has six flipping rings as a Patriot head coach. He gets a pass for this season and I don't get why that's so weird to some people. He has earned the benefit of the doubt.

No his world record of winning SBs is the best coaching in nfl history.
His 5 win season while he cleared the cap, but the bullett, played with very little talent and built the team into one that competed won more games than it should, lost only 2 by more than a possession and SET THE TONE FOR A SB CHAMPIONSHIP THE NEXT YEAR is an example of good job, not something to criticize.

You didn't answer my post at all though. The reality is, he gets the benefit of the doubt for 1 or 2 seasons. He has won six rings for us.

I am willing to look past this season.
That was not the discussion. You do realize that in 8 seasons without Brady, Bill is a sub .500 coach? The thread is about the entire dynasty and who is most responsible. That is what is being discussed not just this season in a vacuum.

I don't care about his time in Cleveland. Coaches are able to get better. Also, as @Ring 6 said, he was able to build a winning culture after his 5-11 season in 2000. I didn't watch the Patriots back then, but it seems like most people say that Brady wasn't the main reason behind for the first couple superbowl wins.

Of course you don't because it ruins your argument. He also has 3 seasons in NE and still sub .500.
And the winning culture started in 2001 when Brady became the starter. Coincidence?

How does what he did in the 90s ruin my argument?

Are you saying coaches can't get better? If Reid wins another 2 rings, will anybody care about his NFCCG losses in Philly?

Because every season counts. You don't get to eliminate the ones you don't like. Bill got better when he got Brady as his QB. Now with Brady gone he is sub .500 again.

You aren't paying attention to context at all though.

Do I think Brady made Belichick better? Sure. Do I think this season and his time in Cleveland is evidence he isn't as good as we thought? Nope.

Lennon was great separately.

Some of his best was created post Beatles. Mcartney was good post Beatles, but not on Lennon's level. Just compare Lennon's Christmas song to McCartney's for example. No contest.
Revisionist. There was PLENTY of Lennon crap post Beatles. They both had fantastic careers after the breakup. They both had duds as well.

I love me some Brady. Ice in veins, fire in his heart. He made so so many key, clutch plays it’s impossible to list them all. He could be broken into pre injury and post injury and make the hall of fame as two players. Amazing attention to detail and a fierce competitor.

I still think BB was more important. It doesn’t mean I don’t love me some Brady.
