I knew that but didn’t think or know if it was official. In any event, it’s going to be Cam getting the start. Stidham has crapped his pants whenever he’s seen the field.
That’s not really a fair assessment. He has played one time in a competitive game and it pretty much immediately became non competitive when Edelman let a perfectly thrown ball bounce off his hands and into a pick 6.
None of that proves stidham is good, it’s just that people are taking a minuscule and tainted sample size and defining the player with it. It’s just too early for that.
Let him earn sucking.

Anybody picking Stidham needs their brain examined. What has he done to be worthy of starting over Cam?

I believe that was coined in 1477 by Ferdinand II.
Coincidentally, was also the last time the Patriots beat the Chargers on an even year when both teams are below .500 and playing after Thanksgiving. The Patriots won that game 7-3, good omen?

So why isn’t he playing?

Experience of Cam and leadership. I think that is running out though because of his poor play and Stid will get a chance soon.

Bill has seen more of a sample size than we have and he's seen fit to keep him on the bench in favor of the guy with 4 TD and 9 INTs.

I bet he can. We got a taste of it in the KC game.
Yea I don't even know where to start with this flawed thinking but I'll just say I disagree

Cam sucks though. He’s sucked for a while. That they stick with him means they’re either tanking or they’re even less confident in Stid than they are of Cam. It’s most likely the latter since, if they were tanking, they’re doing a terrible job of it.

why was Meyers not playing? instead we've been pleased to watch Harry and Sanu drop passes, ask McD and BB
He’s playing now. Best guess is because they were trying to develop Harry and trying to justify taking him as a first rounder. Meyers has actually developed and contributed, though, so he’s been getting a higher percentage of the snaps.

There are degrees of sucking. LOL. I don't think they are tanking either.

Sure that’s a consideration but there are a lot of other things that go into. Any coach has difficulty knowing when a player is ready. That’s why you see so many players do really well when they get their chance and others not.
Why was Brady sitting behind Bledsoe? Why did Edelman take so many years to get a real shot? You can’t compare veteran experience to a guy who has barely ever played and conclude the veteran having the job is about performance and not experience.
I would assume belichick at some level expects newton to stop sucking and is trying to mold the offense around his strengths and avoid his significant weaknesses. I would imagine if he had a time travel machine and new this is what he would get from newton he would go back and not sign him or make him the backup but he doesn’t and for good or bad he has worked this season around making it work with him.

This is perfect proof. BB is old school, he wants guys to struggle and pay their dues. Meyers showed ability last year in preseason, but Brady hardly paid attention. BB and/or JMD sat him as they forced the ball to useless Harry the first quarter season. So don't tell me Stid hasn't played yet because he's trash or much worse than Cam. We have eyes too. He flashed some really good plays @KC. Sure, he had 2 picks - a stupid tip by Jules, and a long shot in the final minutes down 16 (because of Hoyer's crap plays). Cam did the same thing against AZ while being the full-time starter! Come on. You can't judge Stid until he's played 4 consecutive games with first team reps.

I have hard time giving up on Cam. I really like the guy. Love his competitiveness. I wish we could have seen him with a full TC, Pre-season and no Covid stuff before making some kind of final judgement.

Basically we're seeing the worst of Cam and the best of Cam will be good enough to win the division and more.

So my vote is for Cam.
