Gilmore's wife denied report of his dinner with Cam

Why in God’s name would he lie to his wife about going out to dinner with Cam Newton?
It’s more that he probably doesn’t tell his wife where he is or who he’s with. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was him and Cam and some women that aren’t their wives.

It would be worse if Gilmore got it from the outside...it means he was careless
I hate this take. Nothing against you because a ton of people are saying the same. Could he have got it from being careless? Absolutely. He also could have gotten it from something complete innocuous too. He could have simply been in contact with someone asymptomatic. Correct me if I'm wrong but the guy wasn't in quarantine. Media loves to make the assumption that the player did something reckless and run with it.

If someone tests positive and it is proven that they were at a strip club or something like that it's different.

Dinnergate!

Pats stripped of 21's first and second round picks.

Were those women lesbians?

Pretty sure we've entered the realm of a player being picked at random and subjected to summary execution on NFL Gameday Live.

I'm inclined to believe there was no dinner, she could just not have been told about it for whatever reason, but it's much more likely that she does in fact know what her husband is up to most days. But ultimately does it really matter? They both got COVID, whether they had dinner together or not prior to his test doesn't exactly mean much. Should Bill be in trouble for having dinner with Linda on Tuesday if she tests positive on Wednesday? Obviously not. There's not any difference here even if it was true. The fact that it's such a focus point for news outlets and is likely also untrue is just silly and sad.

**** like this just makes me facepalm....how do these reporters/news hacks publish these stories with nothing to prove that it’s credible or true? If there’s no pictures & the subjects the story is about have not confirmed it, how can you just put it out there as a substantiated truth, when it hasn’t been corroborated and is actually patently false?
The “fake news” term, although annoying, appears to be a real concern.
Any news is good business. The corrupt 32 and NYJFL* are not going to intervene in something that gains them more $$$$. The sheep are all too eager to eat that cheese. The clickbaiters are all too keen to use it. Nobody holds them accountable.

The only thing you can do is create your own blacklist and refuse to click, read, watch, or believe their tweets/news and then if they ever come up with conversations with friends or whatever remind them of their past transgression(s). Don't do it too often or they might tune you out too. It's a fine line. Good luck, the future looks bleak!

So... assuming that the media, and especially the local sports media, with a track record of getting stuff wrong, got something else wrong = irresponsible.

Assuming that Gilmore was gallivanting about town with Newton and having an affair behind his wife’s back without a shred of evidence = more responsible?

Interesting.

It'll be interesting to see what happens here...a players wife calling out the media lies. Will people on here back up the media that they've been supporting throughout the last 6 months of virus propaganda? Or will they believe the player's wife??? You can't have it both ways; either the media is always right (as many on here claim as it relates to "reporting" on corona) or they're wrong...
There's media and there's science. I'm sorry you didn't pay attention in school to the difference but that's where we are these days.

Imagine assuming that about someone you have never met. Sorry your life has caused you to be anti-person.

I am not a fan of baseless gossip that denigrates a person.
I have no idea about Cam's personal life nor do I care.
It is not a good thing to spread gossip. Worse yet to invent it and then spread it to a wide audience.

OMG over 30% of the people who have the disease never show any symptoms. Probably time to stop blaming people for catching it. Masks at best may help a bit, but they certainly aren't anywhere near 100% effective. How many players have been hospitalized so far? The only thing that has been an issue so far is scheduling around teams catching it. News flash, every team is going to get hit with this eventually.

I am saying both Gilmore's wife and the media are capable of being wrong. Not much more than that. In fact I don't really care what he did unless he was deliberately negligent and got infected.

Lol the pearl clutching here is over the top. I basically said it isn't out of the realm of possibility that Gilmore's wife didn't know he was with Cam. It is that simple.

That is actually not at all what you said. This is what you said.

"It’s more that he probably doesn’t tell his wife where he is or who he’s with. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was him and Cam and some women that aren’t their wives".

"Probably" and "I wouldn't be surprised if" are very different from "isn't out of the realm of possibility". Own your shyte. Do you work for the NFL by change?

I'd have guessed that too on a different year and with different players. It's just that it would take a very special kind of stupid to do something like that during this particular season.

Maybe you live in fantasyland but I wouldn't be surprised if a professional athlete was out and there was potentially women around that he wasn't married to. I didn't say "Gilmore was cheating on his wife" I said there may have been women around. NFL team wives seem to be a very cliquey group who have their own network of information amongst each other and maybe the players know that and don't disclose every second of their day to their wives. This is already being made out to be way more than it is. All I really care is that he didn't do anything stupid to catch it and that he didn't get anyone else on the team infected which so far (knock on wood) it doesn't seem like he has.

???

You just floated an unsubstantiated theory, on a public message board no less, that he and Cam were hanging out with women who, and I quote, “were not their wives.” You did that after initially trying to shame the people who thought the media got it wrong. It’s okay to own that you might be made a mental error and spread some unsubstantiated gossip here. We all make mistakes from time to time.

In hindsight should I have said anything about being around other women? Probably not as it was just a complete guess. As for the media/Gilmore's wife on who is telling the truth my point was more that I think there is a solid chance she didn't know what he was doing as there is a solid chance that the media is incorrect. It came off as more of a defense of the media when I was trying to say that we cant just believe who we feel makes Gilmore/the team look better when both sides may not know the real story. All in all it wasn't my best post I will admit that.
