Patriots wanted more space in Arrowhead Stadium locker room - ProFootballTalk

is yet another example of why "authorities", be it in sport or anything else, are not trusted on the coronavirus (mod note: don't use that term again, please) issue.

And are you freakin' kidding me with censoring

Flu?

What the hell is wrong with you people and the insane censorship?

You sure they gave Gilmore the green light to fly AFTER they knew about his dinner with Cam?
I expect this the reason why they will punish the Pats. Bill knew about the dinner and didn't tell the NFL about it. Therefore the NFL thought there was no "high-risk" close contact, whatever that means. If the NFL knew about the dinner they wouldn't allow Gilmore to play.
Goddell will take picks from us. Watch.

I mean this is reality and not some kind of HBO show like Succession where people think they can get away with lieing in big stake situations.

Why the **** would BB try to keep that detail hidden from the league ? Everyone knew it would leak sooner or later so there is no rational point to be made about protecting Gilmore/the team. Moreover, why would he exacerbate an issue that was players meeting in private -- which by itself is not particularly different from the idiotic Raiders event a week ago and only resulted in fines -- into a situation where the headcoach is now on the record lieing to the League ?

It makes absolutely no sense at all in the real world.

Of course the NFL knew about the dinner but for whatever reason decided that it was not HIGH RISK contact. That is what this all boils down to. And not some conspiracy theory about BB.

The reason the entire Gilmore/Newton dinner has not yet a name ending with a -gate suffix is because what the Raiders did was much worse and got punished through fines.

People complain about it and report your post behind the scenes instead of questioning you about it themselves. Then the mods cave and delete it. Happens all the time. It’s pathetic. Makes this message board seem more like a sewing circle than a football board with grown adult men and women discussing matters about and peripheral to the league.

If we lose high round picks after the league forced them to go to KC - I'm done with this league until Goodell and his yes men are removed from their jobs.
Better start finding alternative hobbies to keep you busy then.

It's been a problem for years, and it's long past having gone way too far.

it's three particular posters who are doing all the ratting and creating all the discord...and all three of them post regularly on the political thread...and one of them is spreading lies and disagreement in this very thread. They are not really Patriot fans, they are fans of their own bloated internet egos and never hesitate to brag about how great their lives are and how tremendous their college degrees are and how great their property ownership is...it won't change until the mods ignore these crybabies.

These athletes know the risks of the rona by now. If this is America, let them live their lives as they see fit. The 1st Amendment gives them the right to peaceful Assembly.

Everyday is filled with risks, people drive in cars everyday.

No, not in this case. That's a term that - in my opinion - does go too far, and that's why I censored it.

It doesn't do anything approaching going too far. You're turning this place into a preschool with this ridiculous censorship.

My wife was actually standing over me while I was looking at the original post and uttered "Wow - that's not cool". If she was offended - and it takes a lot to offend her - then it was a little overboard.

OK, I'm not going to respond to the wife thing, as that's obviously a no win. I was going to be leaving soon enough anyway, but this sort of ridiculousness seems like the perfect reason to make that day today. I mean, we talked about this for years, and you continually assured me that what's happening was not going to happen.

I'm out. Best of luck with everything.

This and censorship is why I wanted to move off reddit and was hoping to find here. Unfortunate that doesn't seem to be the case

I can tell you with absolute certainty that the number of reports vs the number of deleted posts is incredibly low. I no longer allow politics, and there are some terms that are, unfortunately, not permitted. But that list is pretty small and things overall in the football forum are pretty lenient. In the rare instance something is deleted, it now also typically includes an alert with an explanation. But moderation here is pretty limited with the exception of anything political in nature. Unfortunately, in this climate, that's just how it needs to be to keep things from getting ugly.

This is a complicated situation, Ian, as one persons definition of censorship is often very different from the guy he or she is standing next to. Stick to your principals and do what you think is right. I don't always agree with everything you do on this site but from where I sit, you are a pretty fair, balanced and tolerant individual.
