If the players are practicing ON THEIR OWN without Coaches or Management telling them they HAVE to do so, then how is that on the Team?

The league's whole punishment schtick is f'in stupidity. Plain and simple. Furthermore, unless ALL the players who were at those practices come down with Covid, how can the league automatically assume that's where it came from? Hell, Covid doesn't magically appear out of thin air. It would have had to come from the family of one of the players or from someone on the TEAM who interacted with the players and then the players spread it amongst themselves. Which can happen by being in close proximity to one another at practice. And since NONE of the players wear masks during practice, the 6 ft rule doesn't mean jack..

Why should we be punished ? The league can't do squat unless it is proven we broke protocol. How do they know the players did not get it from the Raiders the week before, after all that team attended a gala. So far the NFL doctor has said they reviewed video footage from the Patriots facility, and went over protocols- looks like the Pats will be OK. Cam obviously contracted the virus from the outside, and now that we’ve found out Gilmore had dinner with him Friday night. (Personal, not on facility...)
I really don’t see how the league could pin this on the Patriots.

My son’s friend returned from a long weekend in Nashville on Monday.
Tested positive on Tuesday.
No word if any super spreader Titans were present at the gin mills and juke joints.

More likely the spread occurred on his flight that pushed away from the gate and sat idle on the tarmac for 3.5 hours before finally taking off.

I don't know what the "rules" are anymore because they keep changing them but it won't matter if they got together before they made the rule and everybody will look the other way when we lose two 1st round picks. If the NFL was trustable competent organization, especially with regards to the Patriots, this is how it should work.

Player tests positive for COVID. NFL reviews how they got it and determines what protocols were effective/ineffective for how he caught it and if he spread it to other players.
