I get all those points except it pretty much downplays that Edelman got 2 hands on it and if a WR gets 2 hands on a ball, it's a catchable ball. it wasn't a floater that went over Edelman into Mathieu and Mathieu didn't jump the route. There is 2 yards between Edelman and Mathieu when the ball hits Edelman, ok maybe he gets stopped right there and it's a loss but just think that's a catch he should make.

Flat out drop by Edelman. Anyone who says/thinks otherwise is delusional.

No he didn’t LMAO. The only reason he had an angle, which took place after the throw, is because Matthieu changed his angle in pursuit to intercept the ball. The play is on YouTube. Easily available to watch again and again until the end of time.

Matthieu, the Rover, was tasked with covering Edelman all night. He is again here. And his eyes are already in the offensive backfield as Stidham is already staring down Edelma

The throw. Ball is not even out of Stidham’s hand yet and he’s already driving on the ball.

Just after the ball is deflected. Matthieu has now closed to within two yards of Edelman. Even if Edelman caught it, this was going nowhere unless Matthieu missed the tackle and, even then, there were three other Chiefs in the area.

Edelman catches the ball, plants his right foot, and accelerates toward the open area between the "30" & the hash marks, then slides when the help arrives...just like he's done many times in the past...

we saw how bad Hoyer is.

But also we had the #4 offense before this game and now #17. Shows you how good Cam is.

The season might be a 7-9 win season based on the schedule and youth. And people will probably point to Brady being gone. But he wouldn't be able to produce with these skill positions.

That said, when Cam comes back and wins us a few close games, I think 10-6 will be possible.

What we are seeing is that more young players are looking competent than expected. Add Keene and Uche to the mix and there are building blocks.

In fact I do think there are multiple future Pro Bowlers among the group of young players.

...which has usually come with off man or zone. Not with a Rover like Matthieu within five yards, reading the hell out of the QB’s eyes, before the ball gets thrown. Yes, most professional WRs need to catch that ball. That doesn’t change the fact that the ball shouldn’t have been thrown in the first place before Edelman even gets his mitts on it.

Never said Edelman didn’t drop the ball. He did. My criticism was the decision to throw the ball there BEFORE he dropped it.

Anyone with any semblence of football intelligence knows that Brady wouldn't do jack squat with this group, I mean just look at last season. But I know if we had an inferior coach, the Pats get blown right out of Kansas City. No question about it.

I'm sticking with 9-7 even with Cam. That could get us anything from an AFC East title to no playoffs. That is, if the season makes it to its conclusion.

1,061 yards
Offensive rank for points scored: 2

Pats QBs through 4 games in 2020:
3 TDs
5 picks
865 yards
Offensive rank for points scored: 22

3 of those picks were not from Cam Newton. In 2019 the Pats had Antonio Brown for one of those games. We don't have anyone like him now. The only good team they played in that 4 game stretch was the Bills game. Brady was pretty bad in that game. As he was for most of the year especially against better teams.

I'm comparing apples to apples. Our schedule is very hard. Brady no doubt would look a lot more like he did at the end of the season than at the beginning. It was a tired stale offense and it was time for a change all around.

After Brady would undoubtedly stink it up in his first 4 games this year with the Pats he would be undoubtedly be throwing a tantrum and pouting in press conferences and on the sidelines like last year and making sure only his binky receivers get attention. The Pats would probably be forced to make a stupid trade too to accomodate his ego.

F that. Thank goodness we don't have to watch that garbage anymore.

Unless the defense miscommunicates and leaves the WR wide open, you are never going to see a lot of breathing room between the wide receiver and the DB on this route. How many times during Brady's career with the Pats did he make this throw, only to see the WR or RB get tackled immediately, leading to a collective groan on this site about the play call in the game day thread? The answer is dozens of times.

The other scenario is that receiver makes the DB miss and picks up a big chunk of yardage. I am fine with sharing the blame between McDaniels and Edelman but most of the posters who are blaming Stidham are looking to nitpick his performance.

Oh yes. So glad. We get to watch the Hoyer and Stidham dumb and dumber show instead. Yipee.

Ok, so if Brady gets Covid you get Gabbert. Is that any better?

LOL.

again, against CRAPPY opponents he's done well. And the Bucs have better WRs than NE does, so it wouldn't have mattered if Brady re-signed here. The guy was more loyal to himself than to the Pats or their fans and wanted #7 rather than stay with us or retire.
