The target date is mid-April and that is not hard and fast depending on how things progress. This is not an all or nothing proposition. The idea is to open up some things, see how things go and proceed accordingly with social distancing at the forefont allowing for work spaces to be modified to keep everything in step.Ok, so all health officials and the WHO are saying relaxing restrictions is a very bad idea right now.
If restrictions are relaxed and numbers jump, "no one" can say, "Nobody knew. It's not my fault."
Or they can say it (and probably will), but folks hopefully won't believe it.
US coronavirus: There's time to stop country from becoming next epicenter, health official says - CNN
Okay gents...I'm the first admit I've gone way too far with some of my recent posts.
Apologies if I've insulted anyone, and I'm just going to ignore those who are eliciting that type of response.
I hope we can all stay on track re: the Coronavirus. Admittedly it can be difficult when it is gets tied up into political policy, but I'm going to try and stick to the topic...
Appreciate all the good insight in this thread so far and @IcyPatriot who frankly could have kicked my ass out the door and been in the right.
Spain basically didn't take it very seriously and are paying a huge price right now. Hope the US doesn't make the same mistake.
Yeah it's tough especially with the couple of really really smart and pretty gentlemen commenting on the issue that they clearly know whole lot about.
Ok, let's stick to the virus. It is completely out of control in the U.S. I predict we will be #1 in cases and #1 in deaths before this is over do to lack of testing,
A few weeks will be premature.
In a Tuesday interview on Fox, Boeing chief executive Dave Calhoun said he would not be willing to give the government an equity stake in the company in exchange for a bailout, implying the company would only accept assistance on its own terms…
“If they force it, we just look at all the other options, and we’ve got plenty of them,” Calhoun said.
You made a general prediction.A few weeks for what? Are you expecting some sort of effect from this bill? You will be disappointed.
Sure the market will rebound for a day or two, but as the bodies start piling up and more and more people become unemployed, the market will take another massive slide.
Dow Jones lost 54% of it's value in the 2008 recession. That record will be easily broken.
I've said it before, I'll said it again, nothing happens to the economy until something happens to the pandemic.
Is there anything in that package that seriously addresses the pandemic? No. It's just a big corporate bailout for corporations that don't need it.
