It's annoying more than anything. Very strange too, since a team should be signing players for more reasons beyond just knowing the player. Makes sense in some cases, but it's being taken to another level here with the Lions, Dolphins (and Titans, Texans to some degree as well).

Texans and Titans don’t have much of an excuse at this point. I think Patricia and Flores want these guys for locker room credibility as much as anything, so they can get through to the other players.

Patriots are losing so many players and we have no cap to fill these spots !! This could be a very long season, however if Bill has a master plan to get the team back on top next year or the year after , I am okay with one down season. I am still depressed about Brady but we have to move on, I just hope we make some decent moves soon !

Sounds like he's going to be a role player bringing leadership. If that's the case, it should be a good signing.

Roberts had 29 tackles and a sack in 16 games for Pats last season, including three starts. He started 35 games for Patriots over past four years.

Roberts joins once and future teammates Ted Karras and Kyle Van Noy in Miami.


Brian Flores surely has a role in mind for Roberts, but coverage might not be his primary job.
