Oh, I certainly believe in border control -- for things that can be controlled by it. But if you think border control will stop potentially fatal viruses from entering the country, you've got another guess coming. If that's all you've got you're nothing but a time waster.

It's easy to lapse into complacency when it's something you can't see and life pretty much is business as usual. Apparently when folks you know start getting sick is when it finally hits home.

• People getting sick and dying.
• No school or public gatherings.
• Enforced quarantines with masked policemen patrolling like its WWII Paris.
• Obituaries 10 pages long.
• Unable to receive medical care even for non-Coronavirus issues.
• Lack of convenience in many, many every day activities and needs.
• Potential for much higher crime.

Stop doubling down on stupid. Viruses don't send out press releases announcing country of origin and inviting remediation. The world population will hit 8 billion soon and people are very mobile, by the time a potential pandemic virus gets identified the cat already is out of the bag. Travel bans and guys with guns at the border will do nothing to stop that.

Problem is the long incubation period where carriers are completely asymptomatic for sometimes weeks. Not trying to be dramatic here, but if you or I had it, and could spread it, we wouldn’t even know until we start getting sick. But imagine how many people we could infect over a two week timeframe before knowing. Otherwise, border control has handled previous outbreaks just fine.

My wife and I are over 70. We are very aware of what may happen socially and otherwise.
I still work and will be vigilant at all times, aware of those around me more so than before.
To all of you out there, be safe, be alert, and most important think of others as we are all in
this thing together. When understanding is needed, give it. We can all save the blame game
'till after this thing is under control. Hope this comes across in the spirit it is intended.

Yes but Biden clearly is suffering from a degradation in mental acuity. He's old. It's ok. Hes human. Hes 77. It happens.

Trump's issue is he doesn't know the details, wings it, uses some choice phrases and sounds like a buffoon.

Then you have leaders like Churchill who used to MEMORIZE their speeches AND be able to grasp the moment and pulse of the audience.

You don't know that. Biden's been a gaffe machine for 30 years, and he's a stutterer.

I've been watching the clips of Trump's mental degradation being shown for years now - when he can't find his way off the stage, etc. Saw the same thing with Bush, with Clinton, with McCain.

It gets old.

If mental acuity was the test for the WH, I'd be thrilled and Trump wouldn't be president. This time through, it'd be Booker, Buttigieg, or Warren, hands down on that marker.

Oh it did something all right - check out the pictures from O'Hare, DFWA, Orlando and other airports today. Thousands of people crammed together without even hand sanitizer in lines for up to 6 hours trying to get through customs. So bad the Illinois Governor let fly on the feds (and the guy in charge of all this is "acting" of course, probably unqualified, and never vetted or confirmed).



So, just to be clear...mad rush to get home put people coming from hot zones into Disney-like mob scenes for hours.

I hate to be the one breaking this to you but it isn't always about you, in fact it virtually never is. That's not a personal attack either, it's almost never about any of us. The difference is most of us know that.

I would like to share a personal story- about two weeks ago I returned from a month long vacation in the far East, (Japan, Thailand, Phillipines) and I was very lucky to get back just in time, before it all came crashing down. The airports at Cebu and Narita were already strictly screening passengers for the virus. Personnel were taking my temperature at checkpoints with infrared thermometers, asking me a zillion questions, and in Japan, we all had to walk by thermal imaging cameras.

But when I got back to the good o' USA, to Logan, there was no checkpoint, no screening, whatsoever. I wasn't even asked if I had made a side trip to China or met anyone from China. The CBP agent who checked my passport didn't even have a mask or rubber gloves on. None of them did.

That's abject failure. And we're going to pay for it. That's why I keep saying the worse is yet to come. Them chickens ain't come home to roost, just yet.

Listen to what people in Italy are saying...everything seemed like not a huge deal until it hit critical mass...and all the charts have it hitting critical mass here within a week or two at most. When it does hit critical mass, people will panic if they haven’t been paying attention.

NYC is the next Italy. Just watch. They're going to hit critical mass sometimes near the end of March, if they don't go into total quarantine now.

I had a chat with a 20 year old about this virus today.

As you'd expect, he was clueless and immature. The guy was like: "I'm not worried" and "You all are stupid for worrying, its a flu!!!". Even when told he could infect elderly without knowing, he replied with: "feckin boomers".

The stupid people like him are basically guaranteed survival and have lived a sheltered life, so they don't care.

Unfortunately, as you know, there's no such thing in politics, especially when your opponent hits below the belt and plays dirty all the time. I think Biden will get destroyed in November when the GOP machine starts attacking him mercilessly.

After work yesterday I went out and bought the Ring system from Costco. The salesman said, “I’m not saying you should, but ****’s Sporting Goods across the street is having a sale on firearms. If you’re worried about a deterrent, that’s not a bad one.”

I can already sense it. People cough, even I look at them thinking if he has the virus. I sniffed in public and some guy looked at me likely thinking same thing. This week is simply the prologue.
