The Tom Brady rumor thread

If the great Jimmy G hits an open Sanders they win the SB or hell if jimmy hit Kittle wide open multiple times before they win the game
When I defend the Patriots for keeping Brady over Garoppolo, that used to be something people would argue over.

One thing is for sure, SB54 shut up all the people (mostly on other forums) who would say things like “how do you know the Patriots wouldn’t have won a Super Bowl anyway with Garoppolo?”

Brady has been to more Superbowls (9) than every other NFL franchise (Excpet the Patriots). Every other QB who has appeared in 4 Superbowls is retired and in the Hall of Fame. Think about that for a second, to see how far and above he is than any potential replacement.

Just pay him want he wants and let him select the WRs, he can't possible do worse than BB does in this area. Come to think of it, maybe give him control over selecting second round DBs too!

I still find it baffling that people realistically expect Brown to reunite with Brady and for such a reunion to be sustainable.

In case it hasn't become extremely clear over the past 6-8 months, Brown is very mentally ill and regardless of Tom's best intentions, Brown is not be a stable individual who is capable of consistently contributing to a team without behaving inappropriately. Maybe he receives treatment and that changes, but I just don't see it happening any time soon.

If for whatever reason Brown reunites with Brady and things work out, or even if Brown finds his way back into the league independent of Brady and is able to stick around and produce for a full season, I will happily eat a massive serving of crow.

How much will this board burn if Brady leaves so he can play with AB

The reason(s) are moot if they wanted him to be their QB in 2020 and their alternatives are Mariota and Dalton.
You are not factoring in a disagreement over $$$.

Burn? I think I there'd be a dozen having a party down at the senior center that Bradys gone.

14 days......hang in there, people!

Lol @ anyone crapping on Shanahan. The guy is an offensive genius. He led the Falcons to a Super Bowl and had the offense flying turning Ryan into an MVP. He also had Tevin Coleman and Devonta Freeman playing better than ever and got Julio a couple of All Pro seasons. Then he led the 49ers to a super bowl with a QB in his first full season as a starter coming off an ACL tear and had a group of formerly thought of as JAG RBs all playing out of their minds. He maximizes guys skill sets in his system as good as anyone I’ve ever seen outside of Belichick.

Shmessy might need to be placed on suicide watch if that happens.

Half the people on this forum would leave, which wouldn't be the worst thing in the world...

The same guy who gave up late in the 2nd quarter in the Super Bowl?

Lol he gave up? Yes I’m sure he did. You caught him.

His offenses have been outscored 46-0 in the 4th quarter of two super bowls...and yeah, he definitely gave up trying to get more points at the end of the 1st half in this last one.

Chiefs were highly likely to pin the 49ers back deep into their own territory. The Chiefs punter crapped the bed the 49ers got much better than expected field position. You don’t understand the underlying concepts behind Shanahan’s decision making..he made the call by hedging his bets to not give the ball back to the Chiefs with over a minute left had they gone 3 and out. And the 49ers still had their shot with Kittle breaking free with time remaining but got called for an OPI.

Maybe it wasn’t the right call...I don’t know...but it wasn’t a black and white stupid decision that had no basis, and it certainly wasn’t “giving up.” Hindsight is awesome.

To those saying "just sign Brady" and get him receivers...who the **** are they going to get and how the **** are they going to get him enough offensive threats for him to be happy? Don't come at me with Joe Jones had a great three cone 3 years ago at the combine, such and such a coach just doesn't know how to use him! Bill is a GENIUS! they don't have enough $ to sign anyone worthwhile, and frankly, there's not much out there. Additionally, as we've seen numerous times, 2d and 3rd tier receivers or former stars on their last legs often don't work out with Brady - the list is too numerous to name. anything worthwhile would command a 1 or a 2, and you know Bill salivates at turning those 1s and 2s into 17 fourth through seventh rounders over the next 3 drafts....honestly, I'd RATHER Bill trade every ****ing pick because his last few drafts have SUCKED - when you've drafted NINETEEN players the last 2 years and all you have to show for it is a ****ing punter, a tackle who's played in like 25% of his games, a DE who did NOTHING over the last 8 games, and a first round rb who plays more like a 5th rounder....PLEASE...spare me the "value" of draft picks...and spare me the NKeal Harry circlejerk...WHAT ABOUT JAWUN BENTLEY!!!!!! what about him, he blows...

So, it is pointless to bring Brady back WITHOUT sufficient WEAPONZ...only way to do that is make serious veteran cuts on defense, go uber young on that side of the ball, and spend as much $ as you can bringing in the best of what's available at TE and WR. Bill tried winning with special teams and defense - we saw how that worked out with a 43 year old quarterback...not so well.

If you're bringing Brady back, make him happy...but it will require Bill taking the stick out his azz and realizing the team needs to win games 35-31 because you had to sell out your D to make Brady happy.

If you're not bring back Sad Pouting Tom, then blow it up and tank...

With the exception with the last sentence, I endorse this post.

If Tom needs to bend over for a cavity search from the Patriots, then the Patriots need to bend over for a cavity search too. The drafting for about five years has been an abomination. I think they should bring in a couple of high end weapons at skill positions via free agency and roll the dice with the draft on replacing guys they’ll need to let walk in order to afford the skill players. They’ll have a much better chance drafting guys to replace McCourty, Thuney, Van Noy, etc. than they will drafting a TE and WR.

Any veteran QB would be frustrated as hll with these options to throw to.

Actually I think the Brady facetiming Vrabel thing almost has to eliminate Tennessee. How easy would it be to prove a tampering charge if he did sign with Tennessee.

Vrabel and Brady are friends. I think they went to the Derby together, either this year or last. You're not proving tampering just because two buddies are talking on the phone.

Agree...but how is Arians not tampering?

Giving up and adjusting the game plan are too completely different things. 2 quarters of football doesn’t make him a good or bad coach.
