The Tom Brady rumor thread

I hope that he stays, as I think it most definitely gives the team the best chance of winning, but he does seem to be a bit attention hungry and dramatic, lately.
How so? He hasn’t entertained any rumors. Blame the press, and the Patriots, for letting it get to this point. And let’s blame ourselves a bit too.

Tom Vs Time seemed to kick things off, then you had last year’s retirement talk (or failure to stop it) and his camp is certainly behind some of these “leaks” right now. There’s the ambiguous tweets about retirement that dominated media day during the SB week, which he seemed to enjoy. I think it’s obvious that he’s been trolling us for awhile now, as others have pointed out.

Also, the commercial that aired during the SB. That’s not even bringing some of the TB12 stuff up, or all of the weekly questions that came with his social media hints and previously, the weekly TB Times. He’s been basking in the attention for awhile now. I’m not saying that he’s not a great guy, but he’s most certainly a bit different than the Brady of old. I guess he’s just enjoying the limelight, so more power to him.

So basically him trying to increase his brand and, hence, his earnings as well as using social media is attention seeking. In that case, upwards of 90% of the United States fits that bill. Agree though. I don’t care that he won 6 Super Bowls for the team. Can’t use social media. We need to replace him with a millennial QB who definitely doesn’t use it.

Brady is acting like a recently divorced woman.....hair extensions, boob job, butt lift, stripper pole lessons....cunningly packaged to attract some loser that will make him feel special again .... for 2 years plus an option.
Flirting with creepy old dudes.....

PS: Pass catching RBs on these loser teams must be giddy knowing a boat load of 1 yard screen passes could be coming their way.
WRs.... not so much.

And this, ladies and gents, is a good example of why the Boston sports fan is the most overrated and worthless fan in all of American sports. But you’re right. Brady should have thrown more to the absolute juggernauts we had at WR and TE last season. Brilliant observation.

A big part of Brady's greatness for 20 years was his buy in to the team philosophy, his prioritization of football over fame, and his willingness to not make it all about him. The last couple years, not so much.

Wow

I've been seeing this more and more in my online travels. Fanbases (be it regarding sports, entertainment, video games, whatever), that feel the need to hyper focus on what's going to happen, long before there's any reason to suspect something should. I understand this is a Patriots forum, so we're not going to talk about much else here. But honestly, go see your friends, read a book, watch a new show, smoke a joint, take a warm bath, go away for a weekend... anything.

You're going to give yourselves ulcers trying to keep track of every rumor and dissect what it will mean to a thousand possible futures.

You can blame the media for stirring the pot but that's what they do. I trust the Patriots to make whatever decisions are necessary in the team's best interests -- their track record has earned that. We all knew the day of reckoning was coming and should be thankful he lasted as long as he has. Make no mistake, Brady (and his "camp") most certainly has fanned the flames of speculation about his future. Fans deserve no blame whatsoever, we're just being fans.

It still all about that for Tom. He just wants and deserves to be more involved in the direction his team goes in his last years. He knows its now or never

The media is responsible for some of that.

Tom vs Time. Alex Guerrero and the special diet keeping Brady young.

Plus all the unicorn blood he drinks

Until Dikembe weighs in are any of these Brady threads really worth the energy?

Can I just say that I don’t understand the Brady to the Chargers rumors?

They have a horrible O-line. Why would Brady want to play behind a bad O-line at age 43?

Every other rumored destination (Indy, Tennessee, Vegas) all have pretty stout lines. They all make way more sense from a personnel standpoint.

This whole Tom Brady off-season has been everything Tom Brady has ever wanted. People all over the US are talking about Tom Brady almost every day because they keep leaking fake/real rumors everyday keeping his name relative on the media, and if the media is talking about, everybody else is talking about it. At the end of the day MY BELIEVE is that Brady wants to work and expand this brand more than football at this point of his life, But that doesn't mean football and winning is not important to him, I'm sure he rather do both at the same time and be successful at both. If Brady ends up staying in NE, great ! New Englanders will breath again and keep the Patriots/Brady fun going for a couple more years, but if that's the case, Don't forget that end is coming soon, and hope you enjoy the ride while it lasted !

I think it was you, yourself, who may have said that it’s obvious that Brady is trolling his fans. One can argue that there’s certainly some attention seeking behavior in that action which seems to be different than the Tom Brady we’ve known for 20 years.

2 more weeks of FUN!

What exactly has Brady done? He has not posted anything on social media other than the Hulu pic for the SB commercial and the tribute to Kobe which was excellent by the way. It is the media that is swirling. Brady has not said a peep not even to his friends.
