If Brady leaves I hope we sign Rivers.

I think the options are declare the dynasty dead and try the Titans blueprint with Stidham paired with a reclamation younger veteran like Mariota, Winston, or Newton or try to prolong it with a potential long-term starter like Bridgewater or Prescott. I'm probably on Team Tunescribe at this point where I'd try for the former.

Prescott's the best potential free agent but he's going to cost north of $30m per year. I think he can probably be a Super Bowl QB but he's not a Mahomes or Wilson that you'd definitely want to hitch that wagon to. Then again, $30m for a top-5 QB might look like a deal in a couple years if a new CBA blows the top off the cap.

(I think, with the impending retirement of the Old Guard, Prescott is probably a top-5 QB. Only guys I'd absolutely take over him at this point would be Mahomes, Wilson, and Rodgers. Maybe Jackson, though he needs to prove he's more than a one year wonder, and Ryan. But the current crop of NFL QBs doesn't have the star power of the group that's leaving the game.)

People hating on Rivers saying he's got a bad attitude - you guys gotta understand how insufferable we'd all find Julian Edelman if he wore green and white, right?

Ewww! Stop!

If Brady leaves I would rather see them draft another QB prospect with a high pick, and then dump as much $$$ as possible. Retool the team to be really competitive long term.

I’ve unfortunately watched too many Rivers games living in LA and I’ve said more than enough on how he’s been trash throughout his career.

I’ll sum it for everybody. Chargers offense starts off slow until they start losing. During this time, you’ll see Rivers freaking out at the LOS kicking and stomping his feet trying to get the C to snap the ball because Rivers is not paying attention to the game clock as it’s running down. He’s always good for a couple angry spikes after after a penalty is called for delay of game or they take a time out. Once the game is getting out of hand, that’s when Rivers goes in garbage time mode and pads his stats. Chargers are somehow within reach now, but Rivers fools fans thinking they have a chance and throws the game sealing INT/incomplete pass. He usually yells at someone for his mistakes. Rinse and repeat.
It'd be pretty bad if he makes the Hall. The public seems to think he's a lock though. Very good career, but the hall....nah.

I like Teddy ... I think Josh could utilize his strengths and other teams have not.
I really don't see much upside to Teddy. He's one of those QBs that makes few mistakes but few big plays and he's a big name so he'll be expensive.

There are a bunch of reasons why the Chargers are moving on. Rivers is an old wooden Indian (no offense to my Native American brothers.) He can't avoid the pass rush, and takes too many chances in the Red Zone. Phillip Rivers has one (1) game winning drive in the playoffs, and that occurred in 2009.

The Cowboys are better off drafting another guy and rolling the dice. Setting the market with a mediocre talent like him is such a horrendous decision, and I don't think you can find a Cowboys fan in the nation who likes the move. Top 5 quarterback? No way.

Everytime someone mention Mariota as a possible NEP quarterback a family of 5 people die in Etiópia.

Please stop suggesting Mariota as a QB for this team.

So... tank in other words? I’m down for that in 2020 if Brady leaves. Gets us on the ground floor of the Lawrence Sweepstakes.

Amsterdam is a great experience, but didn't they tell you at the coffee shop to take it easy on the mushrooms?

Only place on earth I know of where it's legal to get **** this good.

Ben Roethlisberger should be the minimum standard for Hall of Fame among current QBs. Therefore Rivers shouldn’t make the cut. If you let Rivers in, you’d need to also include Eli and Ryan. Even guys like Stafford would get serious consideration.

If Brady retires, I hope Goodell reinstates this team all those draft picks he took away and admits it was a **** move on his end.

A lot of you have scientifically wrong opinions about Phillip Rivers. Dude is a true competitor in the same vein as Brady just not as good.

I think Eli and his two trophies make him a strong favorite to get in, so I’d have the bar set to Eli, not Ben.

I agree with you that Rivers doesn’t belong, but then I see that he’s 6th all time in both passing yards and touchdowns.

That would be something to witness.

Up until this year, he made plenty of mistakes and displayed tons of poor decision making throughout his career. For whatever reason, he was more careful this past season (9 TDs vs 2 INTs). Is that the new Teddy Bridgewater?

I’m convinced that people who like this guy have mainly looked at the box scores and not watched him play much. Maybe it’s the the very bad reasoning that Brady wins games by “not making mistakes.” That’s only half of it. He also makes all the plays necessary to win. That’s where Bridgewater comes up short. He’s closer to Alex Smith than TB12.

And no, that’s the Saints offense. Even a guy with no arm (who gets exposed for having no arm in the postseason) has put up a passer rating of 115 two years running now.

Nope that’s Sean Payton, Kamara, Thomas, Cook, Hill, OL & that defense. I like Teddy, but N.O was pretty much the ideal situation for him and Payton’s scheme masked many of his flaws.
