Caserio Likely Leaving

I have a hard time believing this. For one thing, if Caserio really wanted out that bad and voiced it to the level being talked about, the Patriots would have already shown him the door. The last thing you need at the upper levels of any organization is someone who wants to quit. It's even worse if you twist their arm to get them to stay via their contract. And if they do stay (grumble, grumble) but still let it be known that they're going to be gone as soon as they can, you know that their head is not in the game.

Where I work, if an upper manager gives notice that they're going to a rival, they walk that manager out. No two week notice. They pay the two weeks, but they don't want you anywhere near their business once you decide to go to a rival. The same can be said here. Caserio could do some real damage if he wanted to. If he really wants out, let him go.

Are we really supposed to believe that Belichick wants someone who's planning to leave to plan our future draft?

It galls me that "sports writers" insist on ruining or dampening our season when we are only 1/3 of the way through. Shut up already...

I hate losing players, coaches, personnel men, and etc....

BUT as long as we have BB and Brady...I love our chances.

Do you really want someone in the media going "eh, this news might upset fans, I won't report it."?

I can understand growing attached to players who play for the Patriots. But executives?

Does anyone really think Caserio is such an important cog he cant be replaced? Two cant be replaced, BB and TB.

Yep, this is exactly how I see it as well. I don’t see Belichick keeping Caserio in the loop if he was leaving.

Speculation, but I think Nick has been providing some focused OTJT to Monte or Dave Ziegler.

My belief is Nick really is leaving at the end of this year. Not convinced it's HOU though.

From BBs presser yesterday.

“He is doing a number of things differently this year," he said. "The details on that would be a much longer conversation. It is different this year. It has been different year-to-year and that’s not a good or bad thing, but our needs and our points of emphasis change, and our staff structure changes — as those things move, he’s there and he’s able to support us in different areas.

Bill Belichick: Nick Caserio is doing things differently this year, but that's not unusual

Sources say that the Texans plan to continue this offseason and beyond with their current personnel structure rather than hire a true general manager in title. Coach Bill O'Brien has final say, though he essentially works with the team's executive VP of team development Jack Easterby to be in charge of football operations.

Well seems like good news ... I think?

Sounds like Easterby is no longer inclined to give up the ear he has hold of. Worth reading between the lines there to note BOB is apparently safe as well. Interesting that...

Anyone else find the road Easterby has travelled a bit interesting ? Can’t say I fully understand. From semi-clergy to GM ?

You are not alone in that regard
