With all the players the Pats have sick this week, this is the question some smart reporter SHOULD be asking him. "Bill, do you know how many of your players got their flu shots this fall?" And if the answer isn't "all of them", then we FINALLY have a detail that Bill DIDN'T get covered.

Really folks, in this day and age, if everyone had had their flu shots, then this wouldn't have happened. It could very well cost us a critical in conference game. Even if everyone is healthy enough to play (and that's not likely to happen) , the lack of coherent practice this week will HAVE to affect play.

I can’t believe something as small as a flu shot isn’t mandatory for players. Kind of the way it is for some healthcare workers. Of course who knows

That's false. The team could have been exposed to a strain of the flu not included in the vaccine.

Also, it’s still not clear what they actually had.

I’m betting it was something gastrointestinal like noro, not influenza.

Counterpoint: no immunization is 100% effective and, given how quickly they recovered, this is not likely to be the flu.

Any word on Dorsett clearing the concussion protocol ?

@Ian, why does the funny emoji now look like someone ready to heave? What was wrong with the yellow version?

Well if that were the case I'd be OK with it. Just bad luck. But if we lose this game because everyone didn't have a flu shot than it was just poor planning, and out of character for a team that seems to plan for everything else

Win or lose, the Texans are an afterthought.

However, it’s an important game to keep the lead on the Ravens and Bills who won’t go away which is actually quite refreshing.

I’m guessing it’s too similar to the “sad” emoji which a poster accidentally clicked the “funny” emoji in another serious thread which pissed some people off (me included).

Home field throughout the playoffs is extremely important.

time for the offense to pull their own weight!

They’ll be in ideal conditions in a dome. No more bad weather excuses.

Good guess.

I kinda like the new queasy laughing dude.

Brady doesn't give bad weather excuses.

He is one of the best bad weather quarterbacks, ever.

Can’t wait to see the Pats D and O operate in a cozy environment.

???

Sure, you don't mean an away game against a top team.

A cozy environment is any home game with the possible exception of games against BAL and KC.

Considering it is out of character I'm not sure why you'd even entertain it as a possibility. As has been mentioned, this doesn't even seem like the flu anyway.

For that matter, I would be very surprised if flu shots were not mandatory on every team in the league.

Makes sense, thank you.
