I am so ready for this season ...
Moderate expectations so anything like a home series for playoffs will be great.
Not worried about offense but defensively we will see how it goes.

Kemba is a ****ing great teammate and veteran presence out there. And if you watched his post game stuff you can see on his face how happy he is to be here. Kyrie is poisonous to team chemistry. Good riddance.

My “Its never to early to overreact” first Celts post of the new season

The positives:

Love Walker’s total game commitment and the Garden crowd will slurp up his game nightly. Win the crowd over with defense. Marcus knows this.
Never thought I would be writing this but get Jaylon Brown the ball more. Right now Brown is one of the few I trust
How about my new binky Grant Williams and his demasculation of Marc Gasol (1pt)
If only GW was 5 inches taller.
It took only 2 games for G Williams to displace Semi O.


The so so’s

Hayward is fine except for the fact that he gets exploited on defense nightly and gets paid max dollars for his efforts

The awful’

When I learned that Theis was returning this year I sobbed
When I read he was being considered as C’s starting center I threw up in my mouth.
The guy belongs on a bad G league team, not on the NBA roster of a team with ambition.
Is the planet that devoid of b-ball talent?

Then there’s .....

I seriously question the competency and sanity of upper management for elevating Tatum to Alpha 1 status and allowing him offensive carte blanche. Am I the only one who can look through the green haze and see that this guy lacks athleticism and should never be handed the keys to the franchise. Maxing out this guy will set this franchise back for years

Bonus: Who is this Langford guy who is perpetually MIA?

As long as this team plays 48 minutes of hard D, they will be competitive and fun to watch.
Last nights crowd sounded like the crowds during the brief Little Isaiah era. It never sounded that loud when quitter Kyrie was on the parquet (some bias......possibly)

Theis' success is based upon who he is playing against and he's Jekyll and Hyde when it comes to that.....he's useless against true 5's.....I think he was just fill today for Kanter......I don't think Poirier is ready

Tatum has the green light because they're growing him into that spot it just looks forced right now but it will improve.

Hayward is fine on defense.......he's not the twitchiest of guys but he knows how to be in the right place, but that counts on others to not be out of place......that too will improve.

GWill would not be GWill if he was 5" taller just like Draymond Green would not be Draymond Green if he was 5" taller.....GWill apparently has earned prime minutes but don't be surprised if he plateaus.....he's older so he gets it more, but I think he's hit his physical ceiling already.

Langford is a really good ball player........they are smart to let him get right.......if he was 100% at IU he would have been an easy lottery pick.

RWill is improving......but he needs to learn a low post move or 2

Kanter will make us forget about Horford.......his defensive deficiencies are offset by his rebounding and the fact that he can put up 30+ going up against guys like Embiid

Smart is still Smart......tough to watch beyond the arc, but he is the perfect glue for this roster....perfect complement backing up a guy like Walker in the locker room.

for me, the bottom line is that I love the lunchpail mentality and every guy will back every other guy......Tatum jumped in on Walker's post-game and that would NEVER happen with Dookie

I had more fun watching the 2nd half last night than I did at any point last year.
Are there 3 players in the NBA having more fun right now than Kemba, Grant Williams, and Carson Edwards? Permanent shi*t eating grins.
Contrast them to miserable Kyrie, Mercenary Marcus Morris who sucked the joy out of the 2018-19 season.
I’m expecting big things from Edwards in the reasonable future. The dude seems physically and mentally constructed to dominate in this league. Vinnie the Microwave 2.0
And Grant Williams already owns Stevens trust after only a couple of games. Incredible.

And if I ran NBA TV, I’d initiate a nightly Taco Time feature. Give the masses what they want. His 3 minute stint last night was the most compelling garbage time ever. How bout the love from his young teammates

Agree 100% . Tatum was good his rookie year but bad last year. Spending a summar with Kobe after his rookie year RUINED him. He became a ball chucking low-efficiency player like the worst parts of Kobe or Melo. He was a great finisher his rookie year
