Michael Bennett TRADED TO DALLAS!!!!

This wouldn't be half the story it is if not for the fake news media schitt-stirrers trying to provoke bullschitt...

Yeah. The same way Brady was essentially dissing his offense a few weeks ago on the radio.
Brady didn't get into a suspendible conflict with the coaching staff and the media didn't concoct Bennett's transgression.

Bennett might have good reason to feel misled or disrespected, but what he should've been doing from day one simply is the job he's getting paid for. Maybe he's at an impasse with BB over what he thinks his role should be, in which case he can ask to be traded or released. And maybe they're trying to accommodate him. But agitating to the point of being suspended is his own fault. I certainly hope this can be worked out because he's talented.

Except, of course, that I'm not defending him for his behavior elsewhere. I'm discussing the idiocy of attacking him over this particular issue.
For Bennett I guess this behavior is relatively tame but the guy clearly has an issue. I assume they either trade him or release him after the deadline so he has to go through waivers and not straight to the Chiefs or some other contender.

Can we get this douche off the team already. We’re 7-0 and he’s still complaining about playing time. Belichick couldn’t have been happy with his comments. He’s me first, send his ass packing.

Well, it's not like he's not playing and contributing. If he is unhappy, he could ask for a trade and maybe he's done that, but you don't usually get suspended for requesting a trade. So, we do know that he's expressed himself in a way that the team thought was not acceptable and so he was suspended. I don't always blame the player, but in this case, I think there's some reason to think that this player has acted in a way that leaves him open for some blame. We don't need to condemn him as a bad person or defend him because he's a player - his actions led to the consequences he received and he doesn't like it.

It's one thing to say something like

"Yeah, he's getting short changed, but he should know that **** that flies elsewhere doesn't fly in N.E., particularly since his brother played here. So he needs to STFU, or just give non-answer answers, and let things shake out."

and a completely different thing to be saying things like

  • "Let’s rush to defend a guy who’s been a turd just about everywhere he’s been."
  • "Get anything we can for this bum"
  • "Please, for the love of God, trade this loser."

The first would be perfectly sensible. The latter three are idiotic.

Bennett's been a very good player at the NFL level. It's not the fault of the Bennett that the 4-3 team decided to transition to a 3-4 team. It's not the fault of Bennett that Danny Shelton decided that he wanted to be an NFL player. It's not the fault of Bennett that Butler, a guy who was thought by some here to be on his way out the door, has really stepped up his game. It's not the fault of Bennett that he's undersized to play inside as a two-gapper. It's simply a matter of a 4-2 one gapper who doesn't fit the team's current model. Hell, difficulty making a schematic transition was thought to be a possible reason why Wise might have gotten cut or traded on cut down day. So calling Bennett a bum, or a turd, or a loser, in the context of this specific situation, is ridiculous.

“Fake News Media”

it’s a shame you aren’t aware of your stupidity.

Is it possible we get rid of Bill? Pass rushers don’t grow on trees.

So you’re fine with him acting like an ass because circumstances changed?

I don't have a problem with that...

One thing these Bennett Brothers never saw a camera they didn't like. Though I really liked Marty more I wouldn't be granting interviews if I was Michael. But to each his own I think Michael is on a very short Leash this week.

I noted his attitude in a prior post. It's always been understood that he comes with one:

Could Michael Bennett Be Unhappy With Role? .................. SUSPENDED!

Criticizing your response, and the responses of others, in a single situation doesn't saddle me with having to accept a player's actions from every previous event, or even the event in question. As I noted, there's a world of difference between "he needs to shut up and let the process play out" and "OMG! Turd! Loser! Bum!".

Okay then. You’re just an enlightened being above the fray.

You seriously don’t think the media makes stuff up? Volin recently admitted he lied.

His obvious political references aside(which I do not like to see on a sports board whatsoever), how is it stupid to call out sports media as fake when they are obviously slicing up words/context to manufacture a story? Don't you think leaving out the below content makes it at minimum misleading if not outright manufacturing a story? Did you miss Spygate and Deflategate?

Michael Bennett: "We're winning, and that's the most important thing for me as a teammate. But I think as an individual, you always want to play more and make some more plays"

I saw this thread pop back up, looked at the title, and thought 'God he can't be suspended again can he?'. Nothing would surprise me.
