MLB Playoffs 2019

Yankee fans chanted F Altuve in game 5.
Probably still feel that way. :)

His reaction looks as if he did it deliberately just to screw the Yankees. I mean why else would he throw slider after slider after slider when his bread and butter is his 100 MPH fast ball?

I think he was probably upset, just looked weird seeing the smile. I think he was having trouble locating the fastball right? Isn’t that what he was throwing when he walked the guy before Altuve?

This is one reason why YED is a day to celebrate!

He has been forced to rely on the slider as a second pitch for quite sometime now, especially after having problems with his control by walking the previous batter.

When attempting to assess Chapman as a closer, one must take into account the effectiveness of the slider. It’s almost as much of a bread and butter pitch as the fastball, these days.

I agree with both of your statements.

How many runs get scored tonight?
Who wins?
Guess I want the Nats ... but can't say I really care.
Just that it would be a nice story ... play ball.

Juan Soto is turning into a great story. Kid is not bad.
He is the only player ever with two seasons of at least 400 at-bats and an on-base percentage of .400 and slugging percentage of .500 before he turned 21. The five others who did it once: Ted Williams, Mel Ott, Jimmie Foxx, Al Kaline, Alex Rodriguez. Hall of Famer, Hall of Famer, Hall of Famer, Hall of Famer, Hall of Fame production.

Inside the Soto-Cole showdowns that changed the World Series

Houston doing a face plant. Verlander looking at 0-5 in the World Series. Life is good. Not 2018 good, but still good.

Far better to be the hot team than the team that looks great on paper. I thought the Astros were “heavily favored”.

Every analyst I've heard has been saying how lights out Verlander and Cole are and that they are the greatest pitchers of their generation. Verlander is now 0-6 in WS starts. Cole is 0-1. They act as if these guys are Randy Johnson, who is the greatest starter that I've ever seen.
Not even close.

Nats are in a tough spot right now even though it's 2-2. If they don't win game 5 with Scherzer on the mound, then the series is likely lost. I do believe they can win a Game 6 with Strasburg vs. Verlander but a Game 7 will be tough.
