Michael Bennett TRADED TO DALLAS!!!!

If we would judge players based on one bad memorable play like some do Bademosi he would have none left.
Badmosi was nothing special on D in 2017.

He is not supposed to be special but similar to Bolden solid depth in case of emergency. And that he was as CB in 2017 against the Bucs and Jets.

You are being generous calling him a CB

Go back and check his game against the Jets.

He wasn't a bad player. Certainly not a starting CB but solid.
Marginal at best.

Let's move on.

BB is holding out, hoping that someone will pick up his salary for the rest of the season.

I wonder why they did not just showcase him in one of the blowout wins… He would’ve been great trade bait. Now he’s basically a guy who has no place on the team. That gives no motivation for another team to extend an offer for him.

Bring him in for a good long look?

Get him into the rotation, get him to buy in and trust the process.

He will ball out
Do you think cutting one brother sends a good message? Nice idea in theory, but they're brothers and have loyalties to each other.

yes sign the one and the cut the other

do the old "sign and cut"

Cool, I was hoping for more drama this season.

Completely agree. Why didn't they just suspend Brown instead of releasing him.
The question is what could the Patriots have suspended him for? The texting was part of a general degree of poor decision making by Brown that led the Patriots to cut bait. But I don't know how you say "Hey, you... we're suspending you for not really liking you."

I miss your mass-threading.

Bennett would be useful if someone went down, but i’d be looking to move him as a malcontent.

We haven’t played many high powered passing offenses. I would imagine bennett night have more use vs those. He played a lot vs Pitt.

Wasn’t he really good vs the Falcons?

Bennett was a damn good player. It was a good deal when we got him. He was going to replace Flowers and be on the field often. The team has changed and their is nothing wrong with him wanting to play more and nothing wrong with trading him so he gets the playing time he wants. In return...I hope a trade happens and we get more options on the offensive line, tight end or fullback.

In Bill I Trust

Well I'll give Bennett this, he said the right things post suspension. Look, the Patriots do things a certain way. Is it always right? Of course not but this is how the Patriots (BB) do things. For example, you get in a coach's face because you don't play/want to play? The Patriots/BB will bring the hammer down. That is his/their M.O.D.
So Bennett apologized for being a distraction to his teammates. Good, that's step 1. Step 2 is bring your A game and make the coaches have to play you. On the Patriots (and I'm sure most teams) if you make the most of your time you earn more time. BB has shown plenty of times a no name will play over a known name if the known name is half-assing it while the no name is pitching in 110% every snap. The moral of the story being the best play gets the play time.
Seriously, does anyone believe Bennett would be seeing less playing time if he was out there kicking ass and taking names every time he was in the game? I realize the scheme may mean reduced playing time, however and again, kick ass and take names when you are called on! You do that and they'll find a way to get you on the field more. So I look forward to his coming back and seeing if he has something to prove ON the field and on the sideline (keep in mind he is here probably because he wants another ring! That's good motivation).
