Antonio Brown

I think the copy of the texts/emails is pretty damning against Brown. Though heavy in whatever Brown passes for as English nowadays (some wacky thug street talk that is virtually un-deciferable), right off the bat he admits to ejaculating on her back (not the term he used). That matches one part of her story (one of the 3 sexual assaults/rapes she claimed happened).

I think his days are numbered.

Speaking of numbers, by giving Brown a jersey number of #1, this is classic Belichick trolling the NFL and maybe even Brown himself. I think he knows Brown will probably never play a game for the Pats. I truly believe things will only get worse the next few days. Honestly, I want him to cut Brown asap. IF he goes on the Commisioner's Exempt list (rumors swirling towards the NFL taking that action), he can't play or practice, yet the Pats still have to pay him, which would be ridiculous.

Still angry about them trading DT, it'll prove to be a dumb move.

That’s your damning evidence? Anything else? We have no idea when or how it really occurred, only what she claims. Context is everything and his emails don’t provide that. When your major piece of evidence includes the alleged perpetrator calling you a liar and money grubber and a quote like “accuse me of what?” your evidence is pretty damn weak. Her best evidence could be used by AB’s defense team against her.

and Kraft shouldn't help the league

If Goodell wants to sit Brown because of a civil case, before anything has been proved, then it is on him (and his investigators).

Chung will likely play the entire season, even if he is eventually found guilty.

With regard to AB, if the league waits, we'll get our $5M or $6M worth. After all, if and when the contract is voided, the 2020 guarantee and bonus won't happen.

If the Pats were planning on cutting him, he wouldn’t be practicing today. They are going to make the league sit him. Same with Chung and Kraft. They are not helping the league at all.

Hmmm she’s not filing a criminal complaint. Definitely possible she’s taking advantage of his recent bad press and going for some $.
I think its more probable than not that is what she is doing.

I have some very strong opinions on all of this. But after reading though this thread, I forgot what they were.

I don't know that "groupie" is the right term. They've been friends since college.
A superstar athlete came on a groupie’s back? Wow yeah that totally means he took advantage and brutally raped her....

Antonio Brown is famous to the point where he can sleep with any woman he wants. He “raped” her just as much as Neymar “raped” his so-called accuser. And what happened there? Total bullsh*t.

This is a money grab.

Show me where I was bemoaning anything please.

And I'm not talking about morality here. So please stop with the idea that I am. I specifically said I'm not going there and that this isn't about being a "good" or "bad" person.
I read it as implied, given that you talked moral codes, but if that wasn't your intent, my apologies.

How can the DA look into the case without there being a police report? I'm sure the statute of limitations has run already and she can't file a police report now...
The statute of limitations is a lot more than 2-3 years for sex crimes.

Because the alleged "crime" at least some of
I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but college athletes still have groupies.

And they become even bigger groupies once they get drafted into the NFL....

This woman was a "friend" to the point where they had a sexual relationship on the side when AB got bored.

Ideally, yes but it seems to be pretty common for victims of sexual assault to not immediately report it for a wide variety of reasons.

It would have helped for investigative and evidence collection purposes but it doesn’t really make her account any more or less believable.
Yes. But the timing of the accusations make it look less believable.
I'm not saying they aren't true.

I read an article that says the actual % is a range from between 2 and 10. The FBI has it at 8% of accusations being unfounded.

The article also said “that figure does not include any unsubstantiated accusations where an investigation was unable to prove a sexual assault occurred, so an accurate figure for the total remains unknown”.

So...I guess that means there’s a ton of variability in the false allegation percent discussion.

I was being sarcastic. There is no way to know the exact percentage of false accusers, therefore I find the 2% figure quoted as total nonsense and political BS to further a radical agenda.

I think what's being asserted is that morality in and of itself is largely relative and thus arbitrary, at least across human made belief systems.

If that's the assertion, the person/people making it need to brush up on their vocabulary skills.

The question should be whether Brown is more likely to spend one year with the Patriots
or even play one single down.

That was the other poster who talked about moral codes. I agreed with him that multiple sex partners and a culture of sexual freedom increase the likelihood of bad things happening.

You can’t really be this dense, can you?

Could NFL rule prevent Antonio Brown from wearing No. 84 with Patriots?

In case your scoring at home, we’re back to this being a civil lawsuit, with the Pittsburgh DAs office not looking into these allegations.

It's absurd that anyone dislikes this post or finds it disagreeable. It's literally fact. Some married couples are miserable, some unmarried couples have a fulfilling and happy relationship. That does not mean all unmarried couples are happy and all married couples are miserable. FFS.

What is absurd is editing out what other posters disliked or disagreed with then calling them to task afterwards.
