Didn't take The Oracle to see that coming.
Didn't say it was a bad thing. Just said that he would never be a difference maker here commensurate with his elite talent on a one year deal given the system. Sure Gordon could fall off the wagon (heaven forbid) but Brown's availability is hardly guaranteed either. Agree if he behaves he can add value but I don't think we actually need him and would be fine without him. I don't see the offensive philosophy here changing with him or without him on the roster.
Yeah, he or Ebner made the most sense to me. Well, Obi won't be the first of my Binkies Bill has sent packing. Hoping against hope he makes it thru waivers. Unlikely thoughI find the willingness to risk losing Obi very interesting. Also, for those who were hoping Thomas would be cut, you'll have to keep hoping and waiting.
one for two. Now its just a matter of who Obi goes to. Now I have to hope that he clears waivers and comes back to the PS, but I find that unlikely unless the injury is worst than we figured.
Ya, THINK?You seem to see something in Obi that almost nobody else does. Maybe you are overvaluing him ?
No question. It came down to who they were most fine losing and who could potentially make it to the PS. Melifonwu who has been essentially in hiding definitely had a bigger shot than Gunner or Meyers.
Sure but he would have to want to go! Here are his choices. A. Move his family down to Miami in the middle of the season to play special teams for a dumpster fire of a team for the same money he'd get here for doing nothing but staying in shape. or B. Stay here, get paid, stay in shape and wait for a call.
Brian may WANT Nate, but given the choices, why would Nate go?

Chung May well end up suspended, they clearly think Obi has talent, and I’m betting that the length he brings could be a real asset down the road.
Obi should make it to the practice squad.
Ditto for those of you hoping and waiting for Gunner's demise.

He is so much more likely to make it through waivers than Gunner or Meyers at this point.
Well Izzo does some good blocking and that is well neededThey've got a glut at wide receiver, but Slater and Olszewski are wide receivers in number only, and it's not like any of these tight ends are worth a damn until Watson comes back.
You're deliberately being ridiculous in an attempt to extend a really lame troll attempt. By cutting Thomas, it avoided having any of the three players being subject to waivers.
Meyers - subject to waivers, and could have been picked by another team
Gunner - subject to waivers, and could have been picked by another team
Thomas - not subject to waivers, thus couldn't have been picked by another team
I know that you're smart enough to grasp the significance of that, because any human capable of posting on the internet is smart enough to grasp the significance of that.

I never stated that Thomas was subject to waivers because he is a FA.
Keeping Thomas only exposed 1 player to be lost. 1 of 3 sounds dramatic and earth shattering, but only 1 roster spot was at stake.
The Pats were willing to risk losing Thomas, but not Gunner or Meyers. This has all been well documented.
