Texans ARE DUMB - Trade for Laremy Tunsil and Kenny Stills

The Dolphins essentially have two drafts next year, with an extra pick every round except the fifth. Then in 2021, they’ll have extra picks in at least the first and second rounds (and probably the third if Flores was paying attention in NE and seeing the comp picks every year). If they find a quarterback and don’t totally botch this, they will be formidable in 2 to 3 years.

I really think the Texans are going to be a train wreck.

What a missed opportunity for the Pats, though.

Look at those maroons in Houston.

The minute Lamar Miller went on the IR last week I shouted “Burkhead for a 4th!!!!! Burkhead for a 4th!!!!!”.

At the time (probably not after THIS trade though) Caserio didn’t want to do that to his (then) future-self.

Must be interesting times in the offices at One Patriot Place......

I don't understand the HOU hate.

They needed a LT badly. Why leave your franchise QB exposed?

They had zero leverage w Clowney.

Stills is overpaid but they needed someone functional at WR2

This is bad for the Pats unfortunately.

Teams just can’t afford to give up that much draft capital. They’re going to go four years with one first round pick.

How?

Division opponent is weakened.

Conference challenger is better with offensive passing game (which is our defensive strength) but weaker defensively and has lost ability to replenish roster with high-pick talent.

Watson has been sacked 81 times in 23 games and 62 last year alone.

This trade was all about preventing Andrew Luck 2.0

Yeah, they had a lousy line. But it sure seems like they fixed it with a lousy solution.

I tend to agree. Their lack of success in creating a good oline forced them to ante up.

You really think this is a bad move for Miami?
They were going to suck this year either way. Now they get an additional 3 premium picks to build a team with.

What they did makes them a better team than they were the day before but they paid way too much.
I mean you could go buy a house worth a million dollars and you improved where you live, but if you paid 3 million for it, that would be stupid.
In this case they paid 3 mill for a million dollar house, a broken down Ford Taurus and some broken furniture.

I didn't say it was a bad move for MIA. I said they are weakened

Houston did not attempt to speak to tunsill to write a new contract extension. He is a free agent after next year. To top it off they traded away their 1 so they can’t franchise him.
So either they get 2 years for 2 1s and a 2 or he breaks the bank.

Draft capital, yes.
Draft capital is far more important to that organization than how they play this year.
They were not a threat to the patriots this year, so draft capital is far more important with respect to their improving with respect to the patriots.

In other words if the dolphins could trade 2 wins this year for 5 in 2022 that’s a positive move for them.
