Gronk's Big Announcement

I'm glad Gronk quit football so he can move on to other ventures. Very courageous. One might even say honorable. o_O

I'm serious - - this, evidently, can improve lives. I forget the player's name yesterday who said "We are not circus animals" in angrily condemning the fans who booed luck the other night.

Florio is right, this issue of the divide between player and non-player when it comes to respecting the HUMANITY of the player and pain and danger they go through is increasing.

The NFL will bend to CBD in the not too distant future. Sports leagues already look stupid for not doing so now.

.

So isn't alcohol, but gordan has multiple suspensions for using it.

No. Using it while driving. The NFL doesn't punish players for getting sloshed. The league wouldn't have made it out of the 1950's if it did.

They do urine tests, not breathalyzers. :D

Does gordan have dui's? I don't know if he does or not, but ive never heard it mentioned. Like you posted the nfl makes its own rules, especially under goodell.

Gronk claims during the SB he knew it was his last game. Confirms what I suspected all along, he royally screwed the Pats out of getting a free agent TE. He jerked the Pats around for weeks so they couldn’t make any preparations for his retirement.

Well, if he drives, he probably did so drunk. I don't know too many alcoholics with reservations about that. Don't think he ever got caught.

The Colts fanbase could use a guy like you.

Pretty antagonistic take on it. Another way to say it is we're not expecting Gronk to come walking through that door, so when trying to look ahead to the season we're not photoshopping him to the second half of the season based on nothing.
I understand what you’re saying and maybe I’m wrong but it seems like some are annoyed that he doesn’t just go away. I feel like a big part of the reason he retired is because he wants to peruse off field opportunities.

That would be a logical conclusion, but if he has never been busted for a dui he can claim thqt he doesn't drive under the influence and that it is unjust to suspend him for something he Might have done.

I think this is a brilliant move.

Honestly, I don’t see him coming back. When you’ve lost the love of playing football, it never seems to come back. Plus, if he’s playing to avoid injury, that never works either. You have to be all in.

That being said, I want the best for Gronk. I hope he finds whatever makes him happy. If it winds up being football, then he’d make millions happy, but he needs to make himself happy.

CBD oil does not help concussions

Hate to agree with this, but it’s somewhat true. I don’t think he purposely meant to hurt the Pats, but he did when it came to the TE position by retiring late.

i agree with you 100 percent. He screwed the team over. im glad he's gone. And i hope it stays that way.

Was I wrong in anything I said? Or are you just one of many chicken little’s on here not capable of accepting criticism of player/team?

The same way the organization can screw players by releasing them late, trading them to places they don't want to be or putting pressure on them to accept paycuts I don't see much wrong happening here.

If we are ok with the ruthlessness that BB runs the roster with the big picture in mind then criticising a player for using that little bit of leverage they have doesn't seem fair to me.

It is a business for both sides.

I have always been skeptical of all of the many claimed benefits of CBD oil, but the pain relief seems real. My 85-year-old mother-in-law has a really bad back and has been in pain for years. She alternated between severe debilitating pain and then some relief, but while totally strung out on opioids and not herself.

Then she started on CBD oil and the result has been incredible.

An anecdote is not data, and I'd love to see controlled clinical trials, but this particular anecdote was clear enough that I am a believer.
