I'd like to say you used to be the kind of guy who would refrain calling 30-year-old Luck the best young QB in the league when he's not even the best QB in his own draft class, but I'm not sure that's true. You've always been the guy to pass off your opinions as facts and double down then resort to ad hominems when that's pointed out, so I can't really say anything's changed.
And Jacoby's a UFA next year! Instant Karma's gonna get you. Is that on Irsay's twitter feed?
One season does not guarantee a career at that level, and you used to know that. Whatever happened to you such that you no longer have the capacity to see something that obvious, it's a shame that it's had that impact, because you used to be an excellent poster.
Yeah, meanwhile Russell Wilson dwarfs Luck in any intelligent statistical comparison, despite playing behind as-bad-or-worse lines for the majority of his career and throwing to worse receivers. ****, a quick glance at his ANY/A+ shows that Luck had a literally league-average ANY/A over the duration of his career. He turned the ball over way too much, end of story, and the only stats that show him to be anything close to elite are the ones that ignore that entirely.
Luck is really blazing a trail here: he's proving you don't have to be a more-efficient-than-average QB, or even the best QB in your own draft class, to be considered a generational talent. There are some players that the NFL community at large just seems to be incapable of intelligently evaluating, and Luck is one of them.
I need to step away from football as a fan. This % is ridiculous. You can't make this kind of stuff up. What this has taught me as a fan, is that I'm way too invested in this game.
I have a signed Luck jersey on my wall (that is now worth probably less than half of what I paid for it), tons of other random Colts swag here and there. What for? So I can be depressed about a damn football game? Enough is enough. If Andrew can quit on the Colts and the NFL to better himself, so can I. Even if Luck were to wake up tomorrow, and change his mind. I'm still walking away. I'm tired of the highs and lows.
I can understand that no one here really cares, and that is OK. I'm really just typing this out for myself.
To all my friends here over the years, and especially the guys in the forums fantasy leagues, I wish you all the best.
Good luck this season Colts fans (for whatever that's worth)

That bag of draft suck is not going to be anything but a bag of draft suck. It's not going to matter how you try to sugar coat it.
That's a fairly shallow view, Lancer, don't you think. Here's a young QB who gets his very limited TEAM to the playoffs for his first 3 years of his career and over that time improved their playoff performance every year. Was it Luck's fault he had a defense that couldn't stop a guy who was out of the league in a nano-second from gaining 200 yds, or any other back the Pats used for that matter. When you think about the guy had about 5 relatively healthy years and took his team to the playoffs 4 times. Please name the OTHER NFL QB's who can say that since 2o12.2012: Colts get knocked of playoffs in 24-9 loss (Ravens who won Super Bowl)
2013: Colts get knocked out of playoffs in 43-22 loss (vs Patriots)
2014: Colts get knocked out of playoffs in 45-7 loss (vs Patriots who won Super Bowl)
2018: Colts get knocked out of playoffs in 31-13 loss. (vs Chiefs)
Every time they made it to face one of the real contenders they proved they didn't belong there.
Btw, I think there were always rumors McDaniels was unsure about Luck's status. I doubt he knew he'd retire, but I think he was weary of walking into a situation with an injury prone QB
? Wilson, while talented, started his career with a very good coach, an all time great defence, and great running attack. Now that he has to carry the bulk of the load the Seahawks are a middle of the pack team.
Luck entered the league with a brutal GM, drugged up owner, and minimal talent around him. His style obviously didn’t help him by holding the ball but if he had better people around him early on he would likely still be playing.

I was referring to Russell Wilson in this post. Should be pretty obvious that I wasn't referring to Mahomes, since he was drafted 6 full years after Luck. If you're going to sanctimoniously lecture people on "no longer having the capacity to see something that obvious", you probably shouldn't miss such obvious points in your own right.
You declared Luck the best 'young' QB in the league despite him not being the best QB in his own draft class. That was my point: even if you want to pretend that Mahomes having a far better season than Luck has ever had in his first season as a starter doesn't mean anything, declaring Luck the best 'young' QB in the league also requires you to declare that he's better than his fellow 2012 draft classmate Russell Wilson. Well, either that or declare the cutoff for considering someone a 'young' QB falls somewhere in early-to-mid 1989. And if you think Luck's a better QB than Wilson, then you pretty much have to follow that up with saying Manning is better than Brady, because it's the same dumb and wrong argument in both cases.
Also, I joined Patsfans in 2007 and you've been posting about how I 'used to be better' since 2008. I dunno why you've spent the last decade claiming I used to be a better poster, when it seems pretty evident that you've never really liked what I have to say.
I hate the Indy fans. They all remind me of Helen Lovejoy from the Simpsons. They are small minded provincial idiots. Manning played his goober act and Dungy played saint Tony which they ate up. Luck who is a good guy and was too smart and worldly for Indy fans (grew up in DC, London and Frankfurt).
This post" is not the one that got you hung up, and is not the one that got this rolling.

As usual you failed to understand what I wrote.
No one is defending Grigson's drafting.
The point is about Luck's OL. There were at least 5 guys in front of Luck who could play.
Unless Colts ask for some of the bonus $$ they paid back, which I believe they are entitled to. Read somewhere its like $12M?No doubt he has "insider" stories, but I doubt he'll ever throw anyone from the Colts organization under the bus. He praised them up and down at the podium last night, including Irsay.
LMFAO at the reaction from fantasy footballers. Looooooosers.Absolutely sucks for Colts fans.
I understood what you wrote. You're conflating "A" with "B", which is a misunderstanding on your part. But it's not worth working over, so let's just leave it there.
