Is it too early to start the Chase Winovich DROY talk?

D looks promising. I also like what I've seen of the new RB, Harris. Seems to be a good add to the RB mix.
Harris is such a great add. Nothing he doesn't already do well. Very professional prospect. I had him graded barely missing the 2nd Rd so I'm really happy w the player & value. White, Rex, Sony & Harris could be a great group.

This is the bigger issue. He just won't have a comparable # of snaps to win the numbers beauty contest that is DROY. (Unless...there are a couple of injuries to key edge players, so let's pray he doesn't get the snaps.)

I don't know if we really have too many players ahead of Chase in his specific role tbh, especially with the news that Wise put on weight and no longer plays the same position. Bennett is in the Wise category as well. I think Chase is a starter on the edge in sub packages.

In his press time after the Tennessee game, he came across like he'd been playing for Belichick for a decade.

Because hes fast as hell and imo too limited by being a full time DE. He needs to be positioned all over the field
Inch taller than Hightower
8-10 lbs lighter
0.1 secs faster in 40
Flowing mane

Thinking out loud...
Too light to be more than 3rd down DE pass rush specialist.
More snaps potential at OLB
We’ll see

Winovich might play like the best defensive rookie, but he won't win DROY because he'll be part of a deep rotation of edge players. He'll be sharing time with Bennett, Simon and Collins in a scheme that favors different players on different weeks given matchups, so he won't likely generate the volume stats needed to win DROY.

I love watching prospects speak. I know it sounds funny but I really believe you can learn a little something through that. Not a ton but it can add to certain prospects.

I keep coming back to "professional" when I talk abt Harris. Just takes care of business. Very happy we got him.

how many sacks did Chandler Jones have as a rookie?

6. Uptown, 8-10 will be difficult.

He does have the right name / job description synergy.

I’m guessing he gets 5 sacks as a situational pass rusher this year, and plays solid all around defense. Probably not DROY, but people will notice his non stop motor, so the media will notice him. My guess, at best, he’ll make the defensive all rookie team.

Because we always pick last or towards the bottom of selections...I was really happy and excited that a player with this potential was available for us. I would be happy if he performed all season as he has started so far ......awards are a bonus

He will do well but I would not expect rookie of the year..... yet

Yes, too early.....

But appreciate your excitement......
