Patriots 53 man roster post draft

Interesting how Inman went from a “ lock” to cut on so many projections. A week ago people were insisting he couldn’t be replaced.
I'm trying to stay even-keeled on assessing who is/isn't in a good position to make the team but for Inman not to have a single catch during a 3 day "instructional" camp is brutal.

I was surprised at how adamant some here were that he was a lock that couldn’t be improved upon before the camp even took place. He’s jag, I doubt he will make the cut.

I want to congratulate you all on the number of crazy projections I've seen in this thread. It's great comedy relief. Having said that, let me leave you all (for now) with just two words:

Zach Sudfeld

Agreed.

As far as I'm concerned if they aren't named JE11 and Harry they are on the bubble.

Not a Bam Childress fan?

Didn’t want to make this a separate thread.

He probably isn’t available but I’d give up a lot (picks and players) to try to pry him from the Jags. The guy is a beast and I know that BB loves him.

Jags are currently 14 million over the anticipated cap next year (according to overthecap.com) - and they still may need to give Ramsey a new deal (if he returns to elite 2017 form). I’m sure that can get under the cap with vet cuts and restructured deals but they currently have the worst cap situation in the league for 2020.

It doesn’t hurt to call, Bill! I need something to sustain me until late July!

I'm not going to do a full 53 instead, a potential starting roster (according to my disposition) with first rotation players.

Starters
QB: Brady
RB: Michel
FB: Develin
WR: Edelman, Harry
TE: LaCosse
OL: Wynn, Thuney, Andrews, Mason, Cannon

DL: Bennett, Pennel, Guy, Winovich
LB: Hightower, Bentley, Van Noy
DB: Gilmore, McCourty, Chung, McCourty

LS: Cardona
KI: Gostkowski
PU: Bailey

First Rotation

RB: White or Harris
WR: Dorsett, Thomas or Harris
TE: Watson*
OL: Karras, Croston, Schwenke

DL: Wise, Shelton, Butler, Simon
LB: Collins, Sam, King
DB: Jackson, Harmon, Melifonwu, Jones

Whichever way you cut it, this roster has a nice scattering of talent (both in age and positional distribution) and has what BB covets; flexibility.

I'm more excited about the Pats D than I have been in years.

I’d be happy with one more big bodied run stuffer. I love the Pennel signing, but still have some concerns with Shelton doing his job on a consistent basis.

Shelton would only be the 3rd run stuffer on the team

According to a couple of sites I've skimmed, the best available DTs appear to be Moe Wilkerson, Corey Liuget & Bennie Logan. I don't trust Moe with anything better than a one-year, non-guaranteed vet minimum deal; same with Liuget, but for injury reasons. Logan has the highest floor but lowest ceiling. There's also Allen Bailey, but he's a career 3-4 DE who I don't believe is stout enough to contribute inside.

agreed Shelton was the best option. And there isn't anything we can do anyway with our current cap situation.

Yep...As I mentioned in another thread, our 90 is pretty much set until TC now.
