Nice...He was one of the WRs mentioned in another post - along with Pierre Garcon, Michael Crabtree, Jermaine Kearse & possibly Richard Matthews - that might be worth further investigation as a post-May 7th workout/physical/face-to-face candidate.

Edelman, DT, Harry, Dorsett/Inman/Harris, Gordon SUS

I think that every one else is competing for Practice Squad spots. Even if DT doesn't start the season, they can start with 4: Edelman, Harry, and 2 of Dorsett, Inman and Harris.

We can put 2 on the Practice Squad.

I think that we are settled at TE, with Watson, ASJ and LeCosse.

Beck had relatively few snaps while at Texas. I think he was injured for his first 2 years and only played a lot this past year. Running a 4.54 forty is exceptional for a 6'4 260 lb TE. He could probably use a year on the PS to develop...if he lasts on the PS

So, you’d be good with Jules, a rookie, Philip Dorsett, and one of Inman/Harris? You keep on the sunny side, I’ll give you that. If that’s the way it shakes out, I’d prefer to keep a 5th WR.

Inman & Harris as 4/5 is not terrible.

Without Gronk in his prime, it's Dorsett as WR3 or potentially 2 which is the concern

Agree. The problem is the cliff after Edelman with so many uncertainties at 2/3. I would not be surprised to see further additions as veterans are released.

First, the most likely 5th is DT while he gets ready to play. I'm certainly OK with that.

If we are waiting for Gordon and/or DT, I see know reason to have 5 other WR's on the 53. Actually, I don't think that we want to carry 53 if DT is healthy.

I'm OK with 5 if Dorsett, Inman and Harris are all performing well, but I don't see that happening.

My primary points are that we only need 4 WR's on a 53 man squad, when we have TE's and RB's among the top targets, and secondly that the PS is the place for UDFA's and Berrios for that matter.

Agree. WRs will be weeded throughout OTAs and TC here and throughout the league.

I'm not ready to say there will be a "cliff" as Josh or DT might come out of the phone booth and shock us but it does look like that now.

Not sure what will happen with Henry. He could start of well and fizzle out like Branch and Dobson or build up like Mitchell.

It might be possible they start out sluggish again as it'll be "extended preseason" and pull back the reins on Jules and White.

Jules I worry about. He turns 33 in a few days. Gotta keep him fresh.

My guess is that they hope that DT or JG will be available and serviceable, which gives a starting three of Edelman, Dorsett and DT/JG, and that they'll use Harry initially as a kind of Patterson replacement: as a returner (to take the pressure off Edelman) and for sweeps, screens and the occasional downfield route -- ease him in and let him build his relationship with Brady.

I’d be surprised and disappointed, if that’s how they used Harry. I sort of get the comparison with Patterson but Harry is a much more polished, accomplished and versatile WR than Patterson was after only one year of major college football at Tennessee. He is probable more polished and versatile than the 2019 version of Patterson as well. In my opinion, they expect him to be a big part of their offense, not just to returner and 10-15 snap gadget receiver.

While I believe that Harry will be a stud from day 1, I think we haven't seen the final WR depth chart yet.

Edelman
Harry
X/Gordon
Dorsett/Inman/Thomas

Dorsett to me is a good WR #4. As number 3 I'm much more hesitant to feel comfortable.

I think first we wait for a word on Gordon. If that is a negative I believe we will still explore the trade market.

Belichick drafted Harry because he thinks he will be a significant reason why we win games this season.

Just like with Michel in 2018, I doubt there is this 'yeah lets ease him in and give him a play here and there'.

No, I expect Harry to be a vocal point of this offense and put up big numbers.

I don't think Belichick loves the idea of drafting a Running Back or Wide Receiver in the 1st round and would much rather draft OL or DL but he does what's necessary to keep the success going and us a contender.

Maybe Harry will put up big numbers, or not. I am absolutely fine with 40-50 receptions and Harry being our #1 or #2 in 2020. Also, I would hope that he spends time returning punts.

Hopefully, one of our big question marks will be our #2 (DT or Gordon) for much of the year.

I think they will continue to wait for more final answers on those 2 but definitely won't hesitate to make other moves before the season if those 2 cannot and won't play.

Dontrelle Inman seems to be 20-30 catch guy. He had good QB’s (Luck, River) throwing him the ball. With no upside and no special team value, I’m guessing he doesn’t make the team. I think Jacoby Meyer makes the team ahead of him and catches 30-40 balls.

strong move by the Chiefs . getting vg young vet at position of arguably their biggest weakness for peanuts..
