DRAFT DAY DISCUSSION NFL Draft: Day 2

Did McCdainles get hold of BB's incriminating photo? We are spending all of resources on O, two firsts last year and one this year.

JK.
That side of the ball was due. Lots of high round defensive picks in the past 10+ years.

Happy for everyone who wanted a WR early (esp. @supafly who kept coming back to it).

Unless injuries hit there will not be much room for excuses with this pick if he doesnt work out as the team had almost the entire WR board available to them and could have had all types of WR but felt they wanted to throw some valuable resources at filling this specific role.

Byron Murphy going 33?

@manxman2601 I am kinda catching up on all the opinions in the day 1 thread since where I am right now the draft started at 3:30am and I had no intention to stay up for it.

You said you are so-so on Harry. Using the BB spin on it.. from your point of view can you just shortly say "what he is good at" (and ignore what he isn't good at) ? Am trying to figure out what his projected role will be.

Obviously @reamer / @BaconGrundleCandy feel free to join in. But if possible lets really stay with what he can do and not what he can't.

I see him as a possession receiver mainly that offers YAC and is someone that Brady can trust to ‘get the ball’ in 50/50 scenarios. His blocking is excellent which is a big plus and he offers punt return availability which adds to his value. Good solid no 2. Can play X, Y and slot.

Here’s Dane Brugler’s horizontal big board for an idea of likely values tomorrow.

Sounds like a slightly better version of Malcolm Mitchell.

Maybe if Mitchell was still playing on one knee and only slightly better than Kenbrell Thompkins.

Here’s my post from about 24 hrs ago, and like you said (and I agreed with), somehow there are people complaining. I’m no draftnik but I think Harry is the real deal. Now I’m going to stop talking about him because I don’t want to give him the famous @Ross12 wide receiver treatment.

I would be very excited with either player at #32, although I think Brown may be gone by then. You might hear some groaning that Harry was selected a bit too early, but he may actually be the one that I prefer.

I didnt mean comparing him to MM as a negative at all. This offense needs exactly that kind of player and if we end up with a better version of MM then this pick is absolutely worth it.

"Whatever Bill wants"

I trust Bill to make a pick or move up or down that could benefit the team.

Go Bill

I have no idea who any of these guys are, but I love the wr pick. He looks like exactly what I've wanted them to take for the last 19 years.

Top priority for me. DT, DE, TE, OT, S.

They have 5 picks, perfect. I dont think they like the quarterbacks, doubt they take one tomorrow.

Great First day for us. Love the Harry Pick.

Day two -

I'd love to see Jace Sternberger here

Selecting Harry at 32 should mean WR is set. I'm thinking 4 of the 5 picks on Day 2 will be defence with a TE thrown in.

IF Irv Smith is available at 56 then he'll be the pick. If not I'd like Zach Allen at 56 and Joejuan Williams (great name) at 64.

Patriots have more than enough ammo to move up and select anyone they have targeted.

I'm in the same boat. I just wait for the picks to come in and get all fanboyish once I read up on em and watch the highlights. Then I start to pass judgement in TC and preseason.

I mean, no one gave at rats ass about Bentley in the 5th round...until he made plays

Yeah, everybody said Bently was slow... and then we watched him and holy sausages, the guy is all over the field.

Yep. Just gotta wait and see.

All we can do right now is judge the thought process. To me, it was solid. They needed playmakers on offense and this kid seems like just that.
