Kraft Orchids Case - Prosecuters Want a Tug Rule?

What I'm really troubled by, is how the Police got a surveillance warrant (to install covet cameras inside a place of business) on what is basically misdemeanor offenses. Those warrants were meant for taking down organized crime, not a rub and tug!!

I'd assume that's what the warrant is for - something more serious being the core idea of this entire surveillance. Kraft's rub and tug is just collateral damage that happened to be caught.

So it might not even be trafficking? I don’t really care if it was grown women just choosing to take up this profession.

This was really, really dumb move by Krafty. He's a billionaire, he can have high class discrete ladies sent to his home to give him the 'massage'. Why does he need to go pay 60 bucks at a freaking 'Asian massage parlor'. So dumb! News flash, you're freaking RICH. Spend it! Don't nickel and dime and get busted in a sex trafficking massage parlor!

I'd read somewhere that the surveillance warrant was obtained under the guise of a bomb threat. Unsure about this...because we have the Patriot Act which gives the Feds unlimited authority basically....but this is a state case....then again some fed agencies were involved in the widespread sting.

The trafficking part of the case is probably being handled by the Feds and will move at a glacial pace, with no real info until every i is dotted and every t is crossed.

It seems like they haven't even been able to interview these women yet. Need translators, need to win their trust, need to find a way that their families are not threatened by what they say, etc.

Do they not speak English...? Seems sketchy..

Which will never happen.

Perhaps what you read somewhere was wrong.

I heard that also. They told the spa to evaluate and didn't bother with any of the surrounding buildings.

I saw a pretty amazing hot take earlier on Kraft’s possible punishment. Some looney toons choadsmoker from Detroit free press saying it should be a $1M fine, full-year suspension and forfeiture of a 1st.

Unbelievable how the successes of a pro sports team brings out this level of idiocy and contempt. Obviously it was a click-bait job designed to draw haters but hilarious at the same time. Please keep hating us!

I could care less about any fine or any suspension. (Suspending an owner is such a pointless punishment.) Just leave draft picks alone.

I'll say this - it's a pointless punishment from the standpoint of the fans. But remember that these are uber-rich guys who travel in elite social circles. It impacts their social construct more than anything. Imagine the hit a rich guy would take if he were suspended from the Country Club in Brookline for 6 months. Sure, he can play golf anywhere else during that time period. But he doesn't get to use the clubhouse, soak in the experience, hob-nob with other rich guys.

It would personally sting Kraft if 1) he's not allowed to be associated with the Patriots for 6-16 games, including not being allowed in his owners box during the games, appearing on TV, going to the locker room after the game; 2) he's not allowed to attend league meetings during that time period, 3) he's not allowed to serve on certain committees anymore. That hurts his pride more than anything - and that's why these are the appropriate types of punishments for when owners step out of line. George Steinbrenner admitted that he missed the ego trip that being Yankees owner gave him during his early-90s suspension. I'm sure that would happen to Kraft too.

This racist scumbag needs to go to federal prison for a hate crime

Maybe he thought since most were Chinese, they wouldn’t know him

A high priced call woman would be more likely to call TMZ....man, do I hate TMZ

You make some great points in your post. I hope that we’ll see the low end of your estimate in terms of the suspension. This isn’t like the other ones where there hadn’t been any precedent set due to concerns of unfair play.

Kraft’s mistake was keeping company with a lady of the night. This can’t possibly be any worse than Irsay getting caught with cocaine, painkillers, DUI, etc—but if so, it shouldn’t be more than another couple of games.
