It's the offseason. We are champs!

The play of Aaron Donald has gotten me to the point of assessing the GOATs at the interior DT position.

Starting from the 1981 season (when I started watching football) I'll throw out my top 5.

1. Reggie White- 'nuff said
2. Joe Klecko
3. Cortez Kennedy
4. Randy White
5. Aaron Donald- After watching the Sb 53 a couple of times he really reminded me of Randy White. So freaking quick off the ball it was frightening.

Honorable Mention: Warren Sapp, Sey, Dan Hampton, John Randle, Ted Washington

All due respect to Bob Lilly, Mean Joe Green and Alan Page as they came before 1981.

Discuss.

Reggie White was a DE, but he and LT are the GOAT defensive players. White almost ended up on the Giants too. Can you imagine what Belichick’s defense would have looked like? Unreal

Without looking at the stats I'd think I'd rank Sapp above Cortez Kennedy.

Agreed. The sapp in Tampa was damn near unblockable. Then you thrown in 2 hall of famers at each level (brooks and lynch) and you get an elite defense.

In 1981 he was in the broadcast booth, and selling flowers.

True but the OP threw out some love to page Greene and Lilly. Got to put Olsen in that category.

Like Kleko he moved in and out.

Yea. I only know him as a broadcaster and flower pitcher but I acknowledge how dominant he was.

Randle
Page
Greene
Lilly
Young
Karras
Atkins
Brown

He was also before my time but just from watching the highlights of that DL they were dominant. Crazy they never even made a super bowl with that line. (They were gone by the 80 super bowl vs pitt)

No love for Big Vince?

La’Roi Glover doesn’t get mentioned much. At his peak he was a monster.
