13 years with Marino. One SB (A game they got manhandled in by the 49ers). You would think he could've did better than that. People bring up their perfect season. Yet they were the beneficiaries of a cupcake schedule. Stacked Colts teams and zero SB wins.

What I stated was fact. You can interpret the situation any way you wish. I don't think its a big deal.

Not doubting what you said, perhaps "unusual" is a better term, coaches should make enough to afford their own digs.. just sounds weird to me that is all... when you get all "growed up", supposed to act all "growed up"... but he is a Shula, so guess it is ok.. he was signed by the Rams January '17 so time was not an issue.

I cannot imagine living with your college roommate + girlfriends when you're in your early 30's..

Unitas was pretty outspoken and also had no love for Bob Irsay who sneaked the Colts out of Baltimore in the middle of the night to Indy. I read that when Unitas opened up a bar in Baltimore he named the bathroom the Irsay Room.

The best part of grandpa Shula taking a shot at the Pats in 2007, by asking for an asterisk if they won, was that his reason was the Pats were fined and lost a first round pick.

The dumb-ass forgot that he was fined and lost a 1st round pick in 1970 for real cheating and that led directly to the only titles he ever won and his precious 17-0 season.

Soon after Don put his foot in his mouth and became the original Asterjerk in 2007, some of his players reminded him of the facts and Shula clammed up.

I give credit where it's due. And I thought that McVay's response, in that situation, was amazingly mature. He said "He looks like they are supposed to right" and gently deflected his own assistant's asinine comments without making a big deal out of them right before his SuperBowl and distracting him or playing along with him to pile in. It increased my respect for McVay.

To be fair to Irsay, the state of Maryland was going to try to seize the Colts by eminent domain to prevent them from moving. Leaving in the middle of the night was his only option to escape the jurisdiction....

I think the state of Maryland deserved to keep the Colts. If I were a Baltimore Colts fan I'd despise Irsay and the Indiots.

I noticed that Jack Gilden, the writer of the Unitas vs Shula book, went from a Colts fan to a Ravens fan. He kept his loyalty to Baltimore.
