Man. When exactly was this? Because if this was while Bell was still with the team, it gives even more context to why Bell held out and refused to report at all.

yeah..noam sain? U be trippin if u ain't done heard fiddy time from Tomlin's peepoo dat dis is jus bidness

It's one thing to have different rules for different players, regardless of the reason(s). That can be either a good or bad thing. But to express it openly, when it's about theoretically unacceptable behavior, is piss poor management.
  1. Tom can have his guru, if that's what he thinks is keeping him going in his career, at his age - No problem letting everyone know, though it's probably best left unsaid
  2. Nate can skip some practices to be with his child - No problem letting everyone know, though it should not need to be said
  3. Antonio can do pretty much whatever the hell he wants, because he's really talented - Keep your freakin' mouth shut

This is "Coffee is for closers" on way too many steroids.

I think, IIRC, that at one time the Steelers were at least a well run organization. But time is eroding any memory of that.

Jesus. Per the article, this has been the message for years.

Regards,
Chris

Many teams (including the Steelers) call me and say " Sammy Blue Cat take off that Patriots jersey and come join our staff. Make our athletes quicker."

Of course I decline the offer. I will retire a Patriot.

I can't see how Tomlin can remain an effective coach (if you think that he was ever an effective coach). Jesus what a message, I know he doesn't follow team rules, but he is good now, when he is no longer good, then we will get rid of him.

Listen this week to what the Patriots say about Brady and BB. I remember one guy when he first got here, he heard BB tear into Brady in the film room, and thought, Jesus, if he talks to Brady like that...

Then all the guys who say that nobody works harder than Brady and nobody is more humble than Brady, those guys will run through a wall for him!

I think this is why Rodgers doesn't win, its why the Steelers are always a mess (because you know if Brown is getting away with it, so is Roethlisberger).

As a Pats fan, I hope they keep Brown and Tomlin and keep the circus going, hell I would hope they franchise tag Bell again and then file a grievance that says that last year's tag doesn't count because he never signed it. I'll be sitting back with my popcorn ready to watch that show!!

The only way out of this mess is to bring a new sheriff to town. May I suggest Rex Ryan

You are incorrigible!

Perfectly fine policy but communicating it to players is dumb beyond belief. Tomlin is just one of those guys who is good at a lot of stuff but where he is bad (managing the locker room, remembering he isn't a special teams player, handling losses without blaming the Deep State for taking down his headphones) my god is he ever bad.

His numbers as a coach are good but I don’t believe he’s the reason for the Steelers successes. Imo the Steelers player personnel staff are really good, and Tomlin has been blessed with an abundance of talent, but they have to rely on that talent because Tomlin is not going to outcoach anyone.

Wow, just wow. Just...wow. Tomlin told the team they will dump him when his production falls off. This may be the worst example of leadership I’ve ever seen. I will say this convinced me that Tomlin isn’t the guy making these decisions. This obviously must be a GM or ownership level decision. I wonder if Tomlin gets to even make disciplinary decisions when superstars are involved.

Report: Tomlin told players Brown will be gone when his production goes down

So basically what happens to every NFL player at any point in their career...
