Andy Reid is wetting himself about now
Eh, I don’t know about all of that. Andy Reid’s Chiefs have scored 40+ against the Pats three times since 2014. He’s got a lot of weapons and they’re playing at Arrowhead.

There are also some major differences to the teams, like the return of two of their key defensive players (Houston and Berry), as well as our main loss (Gordon). I’m sure Andy Reid is liking his chances, just the same as we are.

The four they lost were really tight to all playoff bound teams. The Pats five losses were to losers and they are 5-0 against playoff bound teams this season. I don't know what to make of either data point.
Deion Sanders said the reason for the Patriots lax play is probably boredom with winning. He said it is hard to maintain the killer instinct every week.

No home or away stats from the last 17 games make a difference for this game for either team.

It’s all about who’s preparation, game plan is better this week. Who executes the game plan and who steps up. Throw everything else out the window and prove it Sunday.

As a Chiefs fan, I can't even argue too much with what you said about our success or lack thereof in the playoffs. Been a fan for over 20 years and have seen a grand total of 2 playoff wins.

I will note getting Mahomes has changed A LOT. And that the Chiefs even with Alex gave the Pats some trouble. They have a chance to prove they are an effective playoff team Sunday I for one hope they take it.

I guess now's your chance

While this is true, it also used to be true of New England until Brady

I believe the pats are the only team to get to the superbowl each of the last 4 decades......hell, even Tony Eason started in the superbowl.

the Pats (and me as a fan) are playing with house money........they have every reason to lose this game while the chiefs have only one.......they're the chiefs

I don't doubt the Pats anymore.......there's no point to it

and they're missing Kareem Hunt.....the dude had 431 yards and 4 TDs in 2 games against the pats.......his absence more than offsets anyone they're adding to this game and don't give me any of this damien williams crap

I have seen that +40 points narrative thrown around a lot lately.

Not that it matters too muchbut for some reason the schedule makers tend to put the Chiefs onto our schedule early in the season. I think we can all agree that essentially every year the difference between the defense in the first 5-6 weeks and the one that plays the final stretch is night and day mostly because communication gets better and the coaches have a better idea about the individual strengths and weaknesses of that year's unit. Or in other words they can tailor fit a defensive gameplan according to what we actually can do and not to "our potential".

I would argue that the Andy Reid style of offense is something that stresses and tries to exploit exactly the communication part. All the motions and crossing routes mean you have to be disciplined and on the same page defensively or you will get gashed.

Personally I think KC will underperform on Sunday because a lot of their bread and butter will not give them the same advantage as it did earlier in the season. And we will get to listen to the narrative of how lucky the Patriots once again got that the Chiefs offense **** the bed. And the silly "lol Andy Reid in the playoffs narrative".

They've replaced Marshall Faulk with Trung Candidate.

Before he was cut, they averaged 36.8 PPG. Taking out the 2 Raiders Games down the stretch (it's a 2 win team, even though they almost lost the first one) in four games, they've averaged 29.3, including the playoff game. They've rushed for under 100 yards twice (and another time against the Raiders). When Hunt was there, they rushed for under 100 yards three times all year.

They only blew out the Colts, who I think we can all (except Chiefs fans) agree, didn't bother to show up.

They're 2-2 in these games. 2-1 at home.

It's not the same offense. The way they Colts played last Saturday, the Chiefs should have scored 50. Instead, a team that couldn't get a first down, was a couple of missed kicks from being down a TD in the 4th quarter.

Exactly, a great quarterback can change everything. Pats didn’t become the Pats until Brady.

Patriots went to 2 SB before Brady got out of HS. Please.
But they didn’t win

Tony Eason didn’t start the Patriots dynasty. That all changed with Tom Brady and Belichick. Went from an underdog franchise to the dynasty they are today

Bledsoe and Parcells were respectable but they weren’t the 2001-present Patriots. They weren’t winning 5 Superbowls

Good news is that according to Mike Reiss the Pats have been relaxed all week heading into this game. The Chiefs have all the pressure on the world on them given that they have never hosted an AFCCG and have not been to the SB since 1970.

Deion Sanders said the reason for the Patriots lax play is probably boredom with winning. He said it is hard to maintain the killer instinct every week.

Have heard a couple of former players (Primetime being one) who have likened it to the "Golden State Phenomena".

Basically do what you need to do to get the to dance; even if it the results don't meet public expectations, and then ramp it up when it matters.

I don't know what will happen this weekend, but I am cautiously optimistic. It took the Pats longer than usual, but they rounded into form the last few weeks of the season.

In Miami our O played well, except for a brain fart at the end of the 1st half; our kicker was off, and the D stunk it up. We still almost won but for a play at the end of the game that has been dubbed a miracle.
Against Buffalo we looked good on both sides of the ball. A solid game, but it was Buffalo, so...
Against the Jets we looked like the dominant Pats of old, but it was the Jets, so...
Against the Chargers we still looked like the dominant Pats of old. We absolutely smoked them, so...

Go Patriots!

Tony Eason didn’t start the Patriots dynasty.

I chuckled at this...

I think Bill Simmons wrote an alternative reality piece titled, "What if Tony Eason beat The Bears?". It was hysterical.

Hey Chefs fan are you going to the game?

This is the most exciting time in my 20 years plus of being a Chiefs fan. Even if we do lose on Sunday which would be a bummer I will still look ahead more excited then I ever have before. Mahomes is a game changer for the Chiefs. Hopefully, he is right up there with Brady when his time in the NFL is done.

Yes the future is bright for Chiefs fan and am glad for you and your fans.
