Schefter Rumor: QB Josh Rosen “could be” traded?

Rosen doesn't excite me, but I never saw enough of his college game to get the hype.

When it comes to the future at QB, though, the Pats would be well advised not to let the perfect become the enemy of good.

If you can get him for a second it can't be worse than the cornerback from tidewater community college we would've taken anyway

Someone lived in Hampton Roads at some point...

Could point some comments out and by whom?

I mean anybody that says anything bad about him could be doing so because they are anti semetic. But like I said it’s hard to prove. That’s why I’m not claiming anybody’s specific comments are anti semetic. I can’t prove it

That's probably why it shouldn't have been brought up in the first place. I know it wasn't you, but still.

Highly doubt he takes Murray. He looks like a midget by the way. Very small "5'11".

And how many lives does Steve Kiem have? Is he the new Ted Thompson?

I love Rosen and would trade for him in a heartbeat. Think a lot of the reports of "character concerns" and "not loving the game" or not being a leader come from weird low-level antisemitism. (Not saying anyone in here is engaging in that, just that I suspect that colored a lot of the official draft punditry.)

Kingsbury was a good hire. It's about time the Air Raid makes it to the NFL.

It has nothing to do with antisemitism, and keep your ridiculous political takes out of the forum.

Others have raised the issue as well..
Anti semitism may not be a major factor but to state it played no role at all ( even if a minor one) is naive.
Josh Rosen given the anti-Semitic treatment?

Josh Rosen and the Jewish-Quarterback Question

Stop. If you're going to play the "In a country of more than 300 million people, there might have been 5-10 who said X" game, I'm just going to have to mock you endlessly.

And, if you're actually going to quote WaPo seriously on opinion matters, I'm never going to be able to stop laughing at you. I mean, did you even read that article?

Don't be that guy.

Racists still root for NFL teams and black players all over the country. So yeah, there's probably some anti-Semitism in some circles, but I don't think the rap about Rosen is coming specifically from that place. If we're going political on this one, I would bet that the rap would come more from the fact that he's a limousine liberal than the fact that he's Jewish.
As a person who grew up playing (and dominating) kickball at the Providence Hebrew Day School, I can assure you that we would be much better off with a Gentile under center.

First antisemitism had nothing to do with it, now there may be some people who are antisemitic.... In a league known for being buttoned down ( ask Kap) there are those who may have those type of views. It is not a stretch to say it may have played some ( which is what I said) role, not necessarily a major one but one none the less....
Mock me, I don't care but it is no different than the old rap against AA quarterbacks in past years. There is the socioeconomic issue ( he was raised very well off) and the political issue ( California liberal) and to some extent the religious issue. What part it played? Who knows but to claim it played no role at all is naive at best, wilfully blind at worst...

See, this is the kind of stupid I was referring to. Yes, in a large enough sample size, you can find people to be opposed to pretty much anything. That doesn't mean that complaints made are the result of that opposition. And even the most idiotically partisan person should know that.

We are Patriots fans. We are the ultimate Brady fans. Still, we mock him for the goat pic (goat, not G.O.A.T.), the slide pick, and much of the other non-blue collar type stuff he does or says. We say that Peyton is more likeable because he speaks like an "aww shucks" kind of guy, and because he pimps lower end products instead of high end goods. And a boatload of people around here also lost their **** when Brady dared to have a hat in his locker. Yes, many around here lost their minds over a hat in a locker. That wasn't anti semitism. That was just people being really stupid.

And, when the same complaints are lodged against black QBs (see Newton, Cam), the charge is just changed from anti semitism to racism, which is just as stupid.

And all those complaints about Baker Mayfield. When will the anti caucasianism stop?

Maybe it can at least all stop here because the siteowner doesn't want politics discussed on the football page, and this particular political claim isn't relevant to anything going on with Patriots football.

I can't take any article seriously that uses "beg the question" wrong, as the WP article does.

Granted; the book is obviously still out on Rosen but to be fair, he didnt have much, if anything to work with offensively.

RB- David Johnson: 1st season back from IR (2017) Still had a pretty good season, considering.

WR- Fitz: 35 years old (still had a decent season)
WR- Chad Williams...??????
TE- Ricky Seales-Jones (didn’t do much)
OL- Straight garbage

Head coach: Steve Wilks...need I say more???
Defense: 26th (PPG) / 20th (Total Yards)

I’d give the guy a shot; but then again I’m not a GM.

So I missed a couple pages and I check back and find out Rosen is being traded because he’s Jewish. Well what do ya know?

I wish it were that easy. Sports is big business, even bigger now with legalized gambling and it is impossible to separate sports from business aspects of it. With the business comes the politics as we have seen. The league would like nothing better than to pretend it doesn't exist and just make money off the sport but the politics throws a monkey wrench into things as we saw with Kapernick and the kneeling...
It isn't new but study history. George Preston Marshall who owned the Redskins refused to integrate the team in the early 60s. Bobby Kennedy who was Attorney General and Sec Interior Udall basically told him that his lease for the stadium wouldn't be honored ( it was Federal land) unless he honored Fed law. and he would have no place to play unless he changes his ways.
50 Years Ago, Redskins Were Last N.F.L. Team to Integrate

If his air raid is successful, and Josh finally takes a head coaching job , maybe we could then hire mike leach.

Can you imagine Bill Belichick and Mike Leach press conferences. Now that would be must see TV lol

That's probably nowhere near accurate but, looking at the on-field product, I didn't see a guy that showed a whole lot of signs of breaking down game tape. Of course he was a rookie and as we saw with Goff, things could change quickly, but he looked completely lost out there at times. If Arizona already wants to move on from him after one year, that's not a good thing either.

The whole concept of this thread is based off a lot of connecting far apart dots. Kingsbury said he loved Murray, ergo he will draft Murray, ergo he will trade Rosen. From what I can tell, the thread title is mostly speculation - not sure if it's from Schefter or a particularly zealous reading of what Schefter said.

I still think Rosen is the QB other than Mayfield who's most likely to make it from last year's draft. He's got all the tools and his team was awful. I don't even think Goff is a comparable, because Goff's issues up until this year looked physical, like he was simply incapable of making certain throws. Rosen can make all the throws but he's got no line and nobody to throw to. But yeah, you really can't know much about a QB until after a few years.
