Josh Gordon Stepping Away?

Most of them are homers because they're front runners, bandwagon fans, or fair weather fans. You won't get that admission out of them. They'll just go into radio silence on here. When the team completely falls apart and Belichick and Brady retire, you won't see them post here until the team starts winning again.
Yep. I’ve been saying this team isn’t great and been getting the standard “we have tons of talent!” responses. I love the team and hold them to the standard they have set. 11-5 is no longer a “great” season. I had my Bledsoe, Curtis Martin, and Ben Coates jerseys as a kid and when the wheels fall off this thing I will still be wearing my Patriots gear.

Can't agree, good corners, better pressure this year, need a run stopper and a linebacker.
Offensive line is stable, good RBs, need a WR, I'm not giving up on Gronk, TB can still throw, needs to stand up and take the hits, I think his competitive nature will get him back on track. I know all the GMs on the board that know better than BB will have a better plan. I'll drink a little more Kool Aid and stick with BB.
The big pieces are there, the holes have been exploited more than ever.

Yup. Getting rid of Matthews looks worse every day. We were better off just holding on and waiting him out, but they got spooked with the Edelman suspension
I don’t think Matthews was cut only because of injury.
He has 18 catches in 12 games in Philly.

BB needs to do a motivational movie or speech for the team right now.
Trying to think of a good one that would be relatable.
Something where the said star or top guy is out or goes down and agaisnt insurmountable odds.
They triumph.
Belichick has been big on these things as our many Managers and CEOs I agree fundamentals but extra motivation and or confidence regardless the source can only be a good thing.

Yes, I have it on good authority that Belichick was gonna make him run laps around the field this week while everyone else practiced. The joke's on Belichick though, Gordon will be well rested and ready to put up 150 yards on the Jets.
Please tell me you are joking.

This is getting strangely similar to
2009. Gordon is akin to losing welker late. Should prob bet on Baltimore wildcard weekend.

Why? Is he coaching a high school football team now?

If it had to happen it’s best it happened now instead of a few weeks from now.

Gordon could have pulled a Barrett Robbins stunt- and then we would be screwed.

That's gotta basically be it for his career, yeah? It was already pretty clear he couldn't be counted on, now he was dropped into the most stable situation in the NFL and a) the team didn't get any better, and b) he left the team to 'clear his mind' or whatever in week 16 of a playoff push. What a loser.

Age is coming into play too. Even if he stays clean for the one year minimum for an “indefinite” suspension, he’ll be 29 when the 2020 season starts.

That's great. That's just f****n' great.

Might want to read the rest of the thread. Sounds like he failed another drug test and he’s getting out in front of the PR train.

Maybe that's the end of the forced passes **** we saw in Tennessee. More Dorsett

So trading "forced passes ****" for poor routes and drops then?
I'm thinking Patterson and Dorsett are going to be sharing Gordon's snaps

That's great. That's just f****n' great.

You’re the caretaker here. You’ve always been the caretaker here. I should know. I’ve always been here.

I’m sure this has been said before, but if you can’t straighten up under the Patriot Way with BB running the show and playing with one of the greatest QB’s of all time, then I don’t know what will fix his issues.

I’m not sure if there’s any street FA’s who can give you that speedy deep threat but you never know.

What is your deal lately? Crying about how the season is doomed and taking jabs at posters for remaining positive.

Also, how would the scenario you just described be about a fairweather/bandwagon fan? Everything is sunshine/rainbows and remain positive about the team instead of whining that the sky is falling and we're doomed? What you just described is exactly that of a fairweather/bandwagon fan: whining that the GM/coach sucks, our players are overpaid/suck, and not giving the benefit of the doubt to the team that has repeatedly shown they can overcome adversity and make a run.

That makes zero sense and is such a lame comment.

Yes, this team has issues. But it's pretty clear the NFL is wide open this year. The Pats have proven they can beat the top teams this year - hell, they have the best record against teams with winning records than all of the current playoff teams. Forgive us for still having faith that a team led by BB/TB can figure it out and put together a few good games and beat a rather mediocre playing field.

I'm not reading 12 pages of hand wringing...who is replacing Gordon on the roster?

Dorsett and his speed obviously takes his place in the starting lineup,,,RB is set...curious to see which way they go

I knew it.

How many times are you going to step away from the game to clear your mind?
He’s done after this one....especially quitting or fcking up just before the frigging playoffs....no one will touch him...what a shame so much talent....wasted
