Thursday Day Night Football: Saints @ Jerryworld Official Game Thread

I am implying that all the complaining about rule changes being entirely responsible for the score in the chiefs rams game was greatly exaggerated.
you post this piece of moronic tripe and then claim I'm the "rambler"? what other implication can one infer except that YOU think the Chiefs and Rams are far superior to the rest of the league? I watched that game and saw things completely different. There WAS no defense played in that game. You keep "observing". I'll keep believing that the team I root for can and will rise to meet any challenge, no matter what friggin' rules are in place.

Are you on drugs?

Dude give it up. Joker speaks the truth about the nonsense and kneejerk reactions on this board. It's ridiculous. He has every right to vent about it.
Yeah I don’t always agree with Joker but more often than not he makes me laugh, tough to hate on anything he says.

I remember right after I joined the board (when deflategate was raging) someone posted a video of a Pats fan screaming at Goodell outside a courthouse and asked if it was Joker, I thought it was hilarious. Was not confirmed one way or the other!

Watching the Cowboys' defense, even just for a few minutes, leads to a real question:

Is Shaun Lee's asking price next year going to be reasonable enough for the Patriots to bring him in, after Dallas cuts him?

Is there an injury discount?

Did not watch the game - but hold the Saints to 10 - damn! Maybe Jason Garrett is a good coach - no, it ain’t that.
Marinelli doesn't get enough credit. He's done a good job with this defense despite being criticized for his style of D being outdated.

My heart hurts at the thought of Jaylon Smith in a Patriots uniform. :(

(1) Knowing the Patriots' luck with "stashing" injury-plagued players, he would probably never have recovered from his nerve injuries if they had drafted him. :(

(2) Dallas took him at 34. Even if the Pats had their first-rounder, I can't imagine they would have used it on him (this was just a couple of weeks after they released Easley).

Was nice to see D tonight. The Saints had some good non calls tonight and Gregory was the only reason that game was close. The D was all over Kamara tonight and I think if you shut down Kamara it exposes the Saints' passing game..they only have Thomas and that's it. They brought in Dez for a reason.

Dallas will be a pest in the playoffs. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, the Saints rely on chunk plays. They get irritated when you make them dink and dunk their way for points. Dallas' D can really fly to the ball.

Man, some of ya'll are awful petty about Brees getting some recognition. Who's really putting him over Brady though? Not many people at all. I mean, Brady has 5 rings and stats that are very close to Brees. Brees has 1 ring. It's not even a discussion. Brady is obviously #1 and everybody else is fighting for second.

Saints caught the Thursday night road team disease that seems to be running rampant all over the league since they instituted this stupid Thursday night schedule. I'm not worried. Saints defense was phenomenal. Allowed only 300 yards and 3.2 yards per carry and got 7 sacks. I'm not too worried about the Saints offense going forward. There's a 12-year track record here that says this was an anomaly. I was hoping they might be in line to break some 07 Pats records but this bad game probably throws them off the pace. But that's OK, they're still in good shape going forward, maybe not historically great, but still damn good.

Boy I will say this though, the Saints offense was absolute trash tonight. I don't think they've had a game that bad, at least not on the offensive side of the ball, in at least 12 years since the Katrina season. Kamara was awful, Brees was awful, offensive line was awful, coaching was awful. Saints have a 10-day break coming after having to play 3 games in 11 days. If they have another **** game in week 14, then I might start to get a little concerned, but otherwise it just looks like typical TNF weirdness.

can't stand the whole Cowboys aura and Dallas media, and most of the last 20 years it's been more pathetic and clinging to the past more than anything else, but I almost feel like this game might give it some new life. I don't know if yall are really aware of this but the whole Superdome mystique didn't really become a huge thing until we beat you bad there in 2009. That was just one of those games where the road team gets overwhelmed, which happens, but I'd hate to think it was the beginning of a new mystique in Dallas. I just hate everything about the Dallas Cowboys, they're so arrogant and think they're the center of the universe when there are so many much more deserving organizations that have actually had success whereas Dallas hasn't done jack squat for two decades now.

I have to say, I love checking out this site, it's a cut above most. This site, the big Chiefs site, Saintsreport and Extremeskins are worth the time, the rest are not great with the possible exception of Panthers Huddle, but that's more of a "I'm laughing at you, not with you" kinda thing. They have fun though.

peace out

so..what I get from tonight in this thread is..the Rams and KC, by implication, are so far superior to every other team, and by further implication, their QB's so far superior to our QB that there is no chance for us in the playoffs, by implication.

Well, I'm a Patriot fan...not some "observer" talking down my bony nose like a Pontificatus Blabberatus. I happen to, by implication, believe that Tom Brady is the greatest QB to ever play the game and that as such, should be accorded the proper deference/respect when making obliquely aspersive remarks on a fan message board in which one has no real vested interest.

Wait a second. There are people around here who think that the Rams, KC or Saints are actually superior to our team ?

For all the **** people like to throw at our defense we have the best defense out of all those allegedly elite teams and an offense with Brady, Gronk, Gordon, Edelman and White. There is not a single opponent this year where I would feel pessimistic about a win.

The Saints "performance" in Dallas just showed how close everything is.
